Job Vacancy For Communications Officer At ARocha International



Role Purpose

Working within a highly focused small team, the communications officer will worts closely with the National Director and other Senior Management team members such a's the Sector managers and Project Managers, to provide editorial, strategic, creative and operational support for the work we do. He or she will play a key role in ensuring our communications are both influential and informative for the full range of stakeholders we engage in line with our mandate and organisational values

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Help maintain and build reputation
•   Support staff to make effective use of brand and ensure compliance with the brand identity system
•   Fielding inquiries from stakeholders, including journalists, politicians and service users
•   Drafting, editing and distributing materials for stakeholders including the media, government and civil servants
•   Develop, manage, update , write content for website
•   Maintaining social media accounts
•   Support the implementation of a social media strategy
•   Help market and communicate events
•   Provide creative, editorial and operational support for communications projects
•   Assist in the implementation of public affairs activity
•   Compile and circulate electronic daily news summary
•   Plan/create multi-media communications materials

Qualification Required & Experience

•   At least a first degree in communication, Public relations, journalism with 3 years post qualification relevant experience. Any additional relevant professional qualification is an advantage
•   Good written and oral communication skills
•   Experience in advocacy will be an advantage
•   Should be able to work across teams
•   Good analytical skills and sound judgment
•   Independent and able to work without much supervision
•   Be able to work in an NGO setting
