A leading Oil & Gas company is looking for qualified candidate for the following position: Drilling Engineer

Job Purpose

• The Drilling Engineer and his/her team are responsible for the preparation of the main and / individual well programmes for the establishment of the required service contracts and for the selection of drilling methods and equipment
• To develop optmised drilling designs for hydrocarbon, exploration and/or development wells (offshore - deep water), incorporating the most appropriate technologies and construction methods
• To draft drilling operations plan and support its execution providing engineering advise, and updating, when necessary, well design and execution plans, complying with Eni Ghana Company HSE standards

Main Task/Responsibilities

• Establishment of a fit for purpose drilling design
• Prepare detailed specifications for drilling equipment
• Assess the drilling related risks and propose mitigations
• Preparation of the detailed Drilling programmes
• Planning directional and horizontal deep water wells
• Anti-collision analysis, monitoring and replaning while drilling
• Survey correction calculations and validating on a daily basis
• Generation of graphical presentations and validating on a daily basis
• Generation of grahical presentation of the directional profile
• BHA design and optimisation
• Bit selection
• Pre-drilling calculations on hydraulics and Torgue and drag
• Mentoring and training of junior engineers
• Support blowout potentials evaluation and relief well drilling strategy
• Assist and verify preparation of call-off's for required materials and services accordingly to the programme and contract casing design
• Monitor and support the well execution process
• Support the well handover and certification progress
• Verify company procedure & feedback reports preparation as per competence
• Prepare end-of-well report
• Follow up on the rig of the drilling activities
• Well risk evaluation
• AFE preparation with probabilistic approach. Establish a time and cost estimate for drilling phases
• Dual activity rig operations planning

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or MSc in Petroleum Engineering, or higher grade as Engineering
• Drilling engineering courses, well planning, T&D simulations, BHA and casing design, ERD course

Required Experience

• 5 years of Oil & Gas industry experience
• 5 years of drilling experience in operation and engineering
• 4 years of deep water drilling activity experience personal competence
• Judgment, initiative, problem-solving attention to details, planning, organisation, time management
• Team player, courteous, calm, clear, aware of reaction patterns
• International experience preferred
• Be "on top of the job" at all times across wells drilling activities
