Our company, formed by nationals and international group of investors committed to operate and maintain power plants sustaining high standards of environmental control, safety and reliability, is seeking for a power plant project in Kpone-Tema area, to recruit individuals that wants to grow professionally and with the requisites qualifications and experience for the following position: Chemist

Summary Job Responsibilities:

•   Adhere to plant operational policies and procedures for production goal achievement and handle work safely.
•   Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the plant running condition and chemical dosing
•   Maintain appropriate record of chemical plant activities
•   Perform accurate and reliable lab analysis of seawater, cooling, filtered, desalinated, HRSG feed-water, steam purity, steam condensate, lubrication oil.
•   Perform accurate preparation of chemicals dosage on plant equipment
•   Follows implementation of established maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure effective chemical plant operation.
•   Prepare reports and appropriate recommendation to superior to help evaluate progress and take appropriate action.
•   To ensure availability to bulk chemicals, fine chemicals, glassware and other consumables and raise purchase requisitions as and when required.
•   Ensure availability of MSDS for chemicals. Ensure calibration of identified critical equipment in the lab
•   Conduct frequent measurement of water quality in the lab and report deviations, if identified.
•   Monitor and report stack emission
•   Ensure availability of suitable PPE, eyewash facility, first aid measures in the chemical handling area
•   Ensure proper waste disposal measures

Qualification Required & Experience

•   HND or Engineer Degree in chemistry or Chemical Engineer
•   3 years or more years of experience in the field
•   Reports to lead chemist and environmental engineer.
