A Non-Bank Financial Institution invites applications from experienced, highly motivated, proactive and resourceful persons to fill the position of  HEAD, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

OBJECTIVE

To develop and manage robust Information Technology systems and support to ensure the reliability and integrity of management information systems for the efficient operation of the Company.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

•   Direct, and be an active member of the Company’s IT Steering Committee in accordance with the established policies and guidelines.
•   Establish and maintain information security standards and procedures in compliance with information security and risk management policies, standards and guidelines.
•   Function as an internal consulting resource person on information security issues.
•   Plan and implement/update all technology projects/strategies and ensure project documentation is maintained in line with institutional standards.
•   Plan and budget for the software, equipment and staffing to meet the technology requirements of the business.
•   Coordinate the development of PC-based applications to support business products consistent with institutional procedures and best practices.
•   Ensure appropriate organisational and staffing control within the technology function, where required segregation of duties or dual control are maintained.
•   Ensure adequate and relevant contingency and disaster recovery plans are maintained and periodically tested.
•   Oversee service management of vendors and outsourced operations and the execution of Service Level Agreements.
•   Adopt new processes, roles and skills for the IS function, by focusing on delivering services, rather than software to the business.
•   Monitor level of IT awareness and regular delivery of effective IT training for IT users and business users.
•   Champion the annual development/review of Business requirement Analysis, IT Strategic Planning, IT Architecture Planning, IT Process Review and Development, Capacity Planning, Risk Mitigation Planning, High Availability Planning, and Disaster Recovery Planning.
•   Supervise and evaluate performance of IT personnel and prepare the annual IT Plan.

Qualification Required & Experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

•   Minimum of first degree in Computer Science or equivalent
•   Professional qualification, plus membership of a recognised Information Technology body, such as IMIS (UK), CISCO.
•   Five to seven years  relevant experience in a senior technical role in Data Warehousing and Information Technology Systems
OR

•   A postgraduate degree in a related field or a recognised professional qualification in ICT. Any additional relevant course or professional qualification is an advantage.

WORK-BASED COMPETENCIES:

•   Knowledge and understanding of diverse IT Database Systems including T-24
•   Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology in banking
•   Good product development and management capabilities
•   Excellent customer relationship development/management skills
•   Good negotiation, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
•   Strong team management skills
•   Project management skills
