Job Vacancy For Workshop Manager



We are the sole authorized dealer of new coaches, construction equipment (earth moving equipment) and generators of all capacities. We also maintain the capability to provide comprehensive after sale service with genuine spare parts of our range of products. Additionally we provide servicing packages for other brands of vehicles in our product range enabling our customers to fully focus on their businesses. We also provide equipment hiring and rental services to clients in the construction and mining industries: Workshop Manager

Objective

In this role, you will be responsible for the direction of the work on the shop floor, properly allocating work and overseeing assignments to produce desired results within set time limits or parameters. You would also be required to provide technical communication and feedback between manufacturing/suppliers & clients and verifying warrantable repairs/replacements over the period.

Job Knowledge

•   Develop, deploy and ensure compliance with workshop management procedures to maintain the efficiency and value of the maintenance services provided by the workshop
•   Plan and liaise with the service advisors routinely to confirm the status of work availability and prioritize works to ensure service is delivered on time and to the required standard, taking into account lead times for spare parts, labour hours required, transporation to site, etc.
•   Ensure that all coaches are efficiently serviced and repaired within the manufacturer's recommendations and that all activities relating to the service and maintenance of it, charging of labour to projects, and recharges are raised, processed accurately and closed daily
•   Constantly review the workshop running costs and identify opportunities for reducing or recharging workshop costs
•   Utilising the life-to-date reports make recommendations to management as to each tool/equipment's future e.g disposal or upgrade, ensure the workshop infrastructure is capable of meeting the needs of the customer and make recommendations for improvements or additions where necessary
•   Stock appropriate levels of critical and consumable spare parts required to maintain the efficiency of the coaches that visit the workshop
•   Develop workshop staff to ensure future growth opportunities for selection and succession planning is achieved
•   Review requirements of off-site projects and deploy resources as required to support the project in the most effective manner

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Degree or higher qualification in mechanical engineering or related field
•   8 years minimum experience as a technician in a supervisory capacity
•   Experience in an analogous industry
•   Take a proactive approach to work
•   Strong management / leadership skills
•   A valid driver's license
