Job Vacancy For Head, Finance and Administration Department



Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Provide strategy leadership to the finance, treasury, human resources and general services units ensuring the application of best practices to achieve the bank's goals
• Lead in the preparation of the Bank's strategic plan and supervise the monitoring of progress ensuring that regular progress reports are submitted to the leadership team and the board of directors
• Advise the Bank, as well as the RCBs, on the application of acceptable accounting policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance to both local and international standards
• Manage the production of financial and managements accounts and reports in accordance with the Bank's accounting policies, as well as statutory and regulatory requirements, identification of favourable / unfavorable trends, unacceptable risks and areas of possible performance improvement
• Oversee the implementation of corporate financial policies and procedures in respect of the investment of all funds being managed by the Bank
• To oversee the management of the Bank's/RCBs money in terms of capital and liquidity and to make sure that all parts of the Bank can readily access the cash they need for their business activities
• Work with the Head of Operations to maximise the benefits from the banks financial information systems ensuring that they satisfy reporting requirements
• Oversee and lead in the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Deputy Managing Director and the entire leadership team
• Coordinate and lead the annual auditing process, including liaising with the external auditors
• Monitor the application of the Bank's administration policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of satisfactory facilities management, procurement and security services to the Bank ensuring that there are clear systems in place for accountability
• Support the delivery of timely Human Resource interventions in the Bank ensuring that all policies, procedures and systems are in line with best practice, as well as the labour act 2003, (Act 651).
• Promote a conducive employee relations environment by supporting the management of the relationship with the employee union and ensure that there is a clear communications strategy to inform employees of events in the Bank on a regular basis

Qualification Required & Experience

• First Degree in Finance & Accounting, B.Commerce or similar qualification from recognised university
• Must be a chartered Accountant
• A Postgraduate degree in Finance, Strategy or similar field is preferred
• 10 years of post qualification experience in a similar role in the financial services industry with at least 5 years in a management role
• Leadership of a team of professionals is essential
• Proficieny in the use of Accounting software

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge

• Excellent knowledge of banking operations and up-to-date knowledge of the regulatory frameworks both locally and at the international level including IFRS reporting, BASEL II & III and other international standards
• Accounting principles, procedures, financial reporting standards and business planning processes
• Working knowledge of the Tax laws and related regulations
• Bank of Ghana regulations and Directives
• Operations and services of rural & community Banks and a good appreciation of operational risks
• Developments and trends in the financial services industry
• Ghana Labour laws & practices
