The Bank invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the following management position: Head, Marketing and Business Development Department

Role Summary

• To enhance the Bank's relationship with the RCBs by identifying areas of possible growth in the sector while providing advocacy on their behalf to enhance their position in the financial services industry. Promote RCBs to potential sponsors to obtain financing for projects to improve their services.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Update and manage the roll-out of the departmental strategic plan
• Update and manage the brand strategy of the Bank with a view of enhancing its role and that of the RCBs in the financial services industry
• Lead in the design, execution and evaluation of long and short-term integrated marketing strategies supported by campaigns for the RCBs to improve the perception of their role and contributions to the economy of Ghana
• Research on and propose potential new sources of revenue for the RCBs for funding and development
• Implement new practices in marketing communications to grow revenues and to assist the RCBs in improving their returns on investment
• Lead in the formulation of proposals for donor funding to enhance the services of the RCBs including the identification of viable projects, development of project plans, identification and engagement of sponsors, project monitoring and evaluation
• Track and report on the status of all proposal components as well as the progress of all funded projects
• Maintain an advanced knowledge of trends affecting the industry in all relevant areas and ensure research is conducted to develop appropriate responses including identification of potential products and services
• Lead the communications strategy for the bank ensuring proactive communications both internally and externally using all appropriate channels in the interest of the bank
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and RCBs to produce effective promotional materials to enhance knowledge of their work and their activities in their areas of operation
• Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with the RCBs to resolve potential problems relating to the support and guidance provided by the team
• Lead, coach and actively manage the performance of the team ensuring that thet have their right focus and are delivering their objectives to the expectations of all stakeholders

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of a postgraduate degree in Marketing or relevant discipline from a recognised university
• Membership of a recognised professional body
• At least 10 years post qualification working experience in marketing and/or business development, preferably in the banking sector, 5 years of which must be in senior management position

Knowledge and Skills

• An excellent appreciation of the working of the RCB industry
• Knowledge of research tools and their effective deployment
• Project management and reporting
• Thorough knowledge of marketing principles and business development tools and techniques

Skills

• Strong commercial acumen and skills to promote a marketing culture in the RCBs either directly or through strategic partnerships
• Experience in managing budgets effectively and reporting effectively to stakeholders
• Proven track record in senior business development role
• Stakeholder management and networking skills
• Interpersonal skills with a level of humility and integrity
• Resilience to deliver initiatives
• Ability to inspire others and build effective teams
• Strategic thinker and excellent communicator
