Responsbilities

•   Have oversight responsibility over the laboratories in the Department;
•   Develop laboratory manuals;
•   Asset management of equipment and preparation of annual report;
•   Prepare maintenance plan with monthly report;
•   Prepare annual procurement plan for consumables;
•   Oversee the activities of technicians;
•   Oversee student practice I/laboratory work;
•   Work out safety procedures and prevent health and occupational hazards;
•   Prevent and manage fire hazard in consultation with the Fire Prevention Unit of the University;
•   Any other work assigned by the Head of Department.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Applicants must possess a Master's Degree in the relevant discipline (Petroleum/Oil & Gas Engineering/ Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering) or any other related discipline from a recognized University. Preference shall be given to applicants with a Terminal Degree;
•   Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience in a research laboratory, managing a process engineering/ unit operation laboratory or in the use of petroleum engineering or handling chemical/petrochemical engineering equipment for teaching and research;
•   Applicants must be experienced in the use of modelling, simulation and optimization software and the use of computer in data management.
