Applications are invited for the position of: Legal Assistant

Purpose of Role

• The role of the Corporate Legal Assistant is to help draft and prepare corporate charter documents, partnership agreements and limited liability documents
• Responsible for the review of legal contracts as well as maintenance and updates of legal registers.
• The corporate legal assistant will also be responsible for legistation research and translation of contracts document from english into french and vice versa

Key Duties

• Review of legal contracts and research of legislation
• Maintenance and update of legal registers
• Translation of English contracts into French and vice versa
• Translation at meetings where french is the predominant language
• Drafting of correspondence and general documents
• General secretarial duties
• Create instructional resources and offer in-house french language tuition to office staff

Qualification Required & Experience

• A Bachelor of Laws Degree from a recognised tertiary institution
• Must have not less than 2 years working experience in a similar role
• Must be very fluent in English and french and have a good working knowledge of both languages
• Must be proficient in written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in Microsoft office skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database)
• Ability to maintain a high standard of confidential and ethics
• Must have exceptional people skills, providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with clients
• Ability to work as a productive and contributing team member
• Must be enthusiastic and have exeptional attention details
• Must be a fast and keen learner with the ability to take on any task and get the job done
• High standard of professional presentation and excellent analytical skills
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Ability to handle multiple workloads with high standards and tight deadlines
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage their own time to produce results
• Must be physically fit and willing to travel across West Africa
• Must have a valid driver's license and traveling passport
