Job Vacancy For Marine Supervisor At MODEC Ghana Limited (Accra and Takoradi)

Ensure safe and efficient maritime operations and support to Marine Supt, provide day-to-day maritime support to FPSO and act as relief Marine Supt with overall responsibility applicable as delegated

Main Duties:

•   Operate FPSO marine systems and utilities safely, with minimal environmental impact and in compliance with legislation and the requirements of the management system.
•   Provide first line emergency response and lead facility fire team.
•   To co-ordinate and supervise the familiarization with all safety equipment by crew members/contractors.
•   To co-ordinate and supervise the first line maintenance of all safety equipment including lifeboat, rescue boat, life rafts and work boats.
•   Administer first aid when required.
•   To prepare, plan and monitor facility stability data and co-ordinate ongoing cargo tank loading.
•   Supervise and co-ordinate 1st Sine maintenance of all ballast/cargo tanks and cargo storage and offloading systems.
•   Co-ordinate and carry out discharge of produced water from cargo/ballast tanks.
•   Manage Crude oil! and water washing activities and gas freeing operations and supervise tank entry operations.
•   To ensure safety of personnel and the facility.
•   To perform gas tests and isolations as per permit to work and confined space entry permits.
•   Supervise and co-ordinate all ballasting operations.
•   Co-ordinate, supervise and implement all checks and activities required prior to berthing of shuttle including the co-ordination and supervision of floating hose pressure testing and assembly and disassembly.
•   Supervise facility team during berthing and de-berthing of shuttle to ensure all operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
•   Plan, co-ordinate and supervise discharge of oil to shuttle tanker and safely perform offtake operations.
•   Act as berthing superintendent when required and when so doing perform all the duties prescribed in the Marine Technician's Job description with respect to shuttle operations.
•   To develop work instructions which ensure safe operation and procedural compliance within the Management System.
•   Carry out Risk assessments, toolbox and MSE meetings as required.
•   Supervise and co-ordinate marine or safety equipment related contractors.
•   Co-ordinate the familiarisation with all safety equipment by crew/members & contractors.
•   To be fully in charge of a navigational watch in berthing Operations.
•   Maintain and be responsible for lifting gear register and crane log book.
•   Supervise and co-ordinate maintenance of all facilities lifting equipment including shuttle equipment, mooring hawser.
•   Operate and perform tests on GMDSS equipment in accordance with AMSA regulations.
•   Carry out HL0 duties and as inside HLO supervise the monitoring of
•   helicopter flight, landings and departures and compilation of information required for safe helicopter operations To assist in the training and development of marine personnel as required by marine Supt.
•   Control and manage the safe and efficient materials handling to/from supply vessels.
•   Control and manage all marine activities with respect to safe and efficient bunkering operation from supply vessels in conjunction with maintenance department.
•   To contribute to daily work plan including the co-ordination and supervision of facility personnel if necessary.
•   Preparation of data for input to daily report.
•   To monitor usage of consumables and liaise with materials coordinator with respect to departmental requisitions.
•   To carry out various laboratory analysis in accordance with procedures and NATA regulations.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Certificate of Competence Master Mariner Class 1. (E)
•   HND Nautical Science
•   Unlimited Master Mariner's license (E)

Experience:

•   Current OPITO accredited TBOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Escape Training) qualification and UKOOA accredited offshore medical clearance certificate are required for offshore travel to the FPSO, (D)

Personal Skills:

•   Communication skills verbal and written (E)
•   Good team working skills (E)
