A reputable Government organization has a vacancy for suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the position of a Principal Officer (Information Technology).

Job Purpose:

The Officer is to assist in the provision and maintenance of information technology system work efficiency

Duties and Responsibilities

•   Manage all information technology systems
•   Provide inputs and assist in advising on the use of new technologies necessary to enhance efficiency and productivity
•   Evaluate software requirements and analyse available hardware capabilities
•   Oversee the security, protection and preservation of all hardware and software systems
•   Ensure proper support for networks
•   Develop, maintain and update the organisation website
•   Perform any other functions as the Chief Officer may assign

Qualification Required & Experience

•   At least a Master's Degree in Computer Science from a recognised institution or an equivalent relevant professional qualification
•   At least six (6) years post qualification relevant work experience, three (3) years of which should be in a senior management position
