Job Purpose
To coordinate community mental health care throughout a region of his or her contract

Responsible/accountable to: The  Deputy Director of Mental  Health Care responsible for Community Care

Functions

•   Shall be the Head of the Regional Mental Health Coordinating Committee to coordinate mental health activities in the region.
•   Shall   collate   reports   from   the   district   mental   health   coordinating Committees in the region
•   Organise, in the region, activities of the Mental Health Tribunals and Visiting Committees when established
•   Receive   reports   from   the   Tribunals  and  Visiting   Committees  when established
•   Shall coordinate the activities of the District Mental Health Coordinators in the region
•   Shall tour the region quarterly to support and monitor the District Mental Health Coordinators (DMHC)
•   Shall call for quarterly forum of the District Mental Health Coordinators
•   Shall receive monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports from the District Mental Health Coordinators
•   Shall submit quarterly report to the Deputy Director for Community Care
•   Shall take part in meetings of the Community Care
•   Shall advise the Deputy Director of Community Care on community mental health issues
•   Shall liaise between the Regional Health Management Team and the Regional Mental Health Coordinating Committee

Duration of contract
A renewable term of four years

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A mental health worker with extensive experience in community care and management skills
•   Be a serving officer on the payroll of the Ministry of Health
•   Be able to complete a term of four years before retirement
