The five-year West Africa Analytical Support Services and Evaluation for Sustainable Systems programme (ASSESS), funded by USAID, responsible for evaluating the performance and impact of che Regional Economic Growth (REG) portfolio of the US Government's foreign assistance programmes in the region. This portfolio includes programmes in Agriculture, Trade, Environment, and Energy in 21 countries. The ASSESS programme currently has four main components: Programme Evaluation; Capacity Building of local institutions in MAE; Knowledge and Information Dissemination; and the Africa Centre of Excellence (ACE). Its, implementing partners are the US Department of Agriculture, the University of Rhode Island (URI), the Delaware State University (DSU), and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Job Summary

•   The ASSESS Programme seeks dynamic candidates to fill the position of Information & Technology (IT) Officer.
•   This position will be recruited locally and stationed in Accra and it requires a high level of technical skills, and proficiency in English.
•   Prior experience of working within USAID projects, the Development Sector or other agencies, will be an added advantage
•   Any nationality may apply if they possess or can obtain legal status to work in Ghana.

Key  Roles & Responsibilities:

•   Responsible for the installation and configuration of Servers and Workstations in the Windows Server Environment
•   Install, configure and manage computer network infrastructure such as switches, routers and wireless equipment
•   Perform backup and disaster recovery procedures
•   Identify and isolate network/hardware/software problems and ensure business continuity
•   Provide technical support to members of staff
•   Setup and configure Video Teleconferencing software and equipment
•   Setup network printers, projectors and other hardware devices
•   Develop and maintain web applications/portals
•   Advise management on IT related issues
•   Develop periodic reports

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or closely related field
•   Minimum three years working experience in a Microsoft Windows Network Environment with thorough understanding and configuration of
•   Active Directory
•   Knowledge of TCP/IP. DNS, DHCP, VLAN, Cisco Routing and Switching, Adobe software and networking portals
•   MCSEVMCiTP Certification
•   Good troubleshooting skills
•   Demonstrated ability to develop dynamic websites and web applications such as PHP, ASP.NET, etc.
•   Linux Server administration would be an added advantage but not required
•   CCNA Certification would be an added advantage but not required
•   Excellent communications skills, media products, using Adobe, Photoshop, Publisher, etc.
•   Excellent written and oral communications skills
