The ARB Apex Bank invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the position of: Transport Officer

Job Purpose

The Transport Officer will be responsible for the management of the transport unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet of vehicles and ensure cost reduction in the running of the Bank's vehicles
• Ensure that the vehicles are used for approved purposes
• Oversee the regular maintenance and timely collection of vehicles from repairs / garages
• Coordinate and supervise the activities of drivers all over the country
• Manage the insurance risk covers and roadworthy certificates of all vehicles
• Prepare the annual budget of the unit and ensure judicous implementation of same
• Monitor the effective use of log books for all the vehicles
• Manage and ensure maintenance of the Bank's generator sets
• Any other duties that may be assigned

Qualification Required & Experience

• A minimum of first Degree in transport management / mechanical engineering or any relevant qualification from a recognized university with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification working experience as a Transport officer in a reputable organisation

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proactive and able to motivate and inspire a team
• Good writing skills
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications
