Job Vacancy For Unit Manager – Electrical and Instrumentation At Keegan Resources (Gh) Ltd (Esaase)



Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd.(“KRGL”) is a fully-owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company which is building  the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana’s next gold mine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid tier gold mining company    that maximizes value for all stakeholders.

KRGL is seeking to employ a qualified person to fill the role below. This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment.   The camp’s facilities  include fully serviced air-­?conditioned rooms,  Wi?Fi access, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (swimming pool, gym, volleyball/basketball, tennis,pool tables,table soccer, soccer grounds). Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Position: Unit Manager - Electrical and Instrumentation

Key  Responsibilities:  

•    Develop  and implement effective Electrical and Instrumentation standards and procedures;
•    Train and develop section employees to function according to Keegan's High Performance principles;
•    Identify, implement    and    manage    E&I    projects;
•    Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned
downtimes, anticipate problems timely, and identify opportunities for improvement;
•    Ensure availability of supplies of parts and materials to meet operational needs;
•    Ensures Minerals Commission and Machinery Inspection regulations relating to E&I are met at all time;
•    Responsible  for High Voltage Switchgear, lines maintenance, functional checks & tests;
•    Implement and maintain safety, health and environmental policies and procedures, and ensure to maintain  a    healthy working environment;
•    Perform all duties of the Electrical Competent person under the Minerals and Mining Act.
    
Qualification Required & Experience

•   Tertiary qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution;
•   Ten years work experience in  instrumentation and process control inthe     mining and or related environment,  five of which must have been in Management position;
•   Strong  ability to manage process plant instrumentation and electrical equipment maintenance;
•   Sound  process  plant business acumen and ability to influence main cost drivers to achieve      set objectives;
•   Strong computer skills in Microsoft office, Ms project, and working experience in planned
maintenance  software packages;
•   High technical ability in problem solving and failure analysis capabilities with special emphasis on field instruments, PLCs, Scada and data control systems;
•   Must be able to read, interpret and troubleshoot electrical schematics/drawings;
•   Leadership experience and thorough understanding of good engineering practices;
•   Must be able to prepare and work within budget sand timelines;
•   A strong desire to coach and develop others by sharing skills and knowledge;
•   Well developed oral and  written communication skills;
•   Very good inter departmental relationship;
•   Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain.
