Tradesmen Recruits Enlistment – Ghana Police Recruitment 2017/2018



GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

All Applicants shall satisfy these requirements in addition to the specific requirement for a specific category. An Applicant must:

a. be a Ghanaian
b. be of good character and without criminal record
c. not have been dismissed from any public service or any other employment
d. be not more than the age stated for a specific category by 1st January, 2018
e. be at least 5 feet 8 inches (173cm) tall for males and 5 feet 4 inches (163CM) for females
f. be physically and medically fit by Ghana Police Service standards
g. be able to speak and write in fluent English Language
h. be knowledgeable in basic computer application
i. have active e-mail account and mobile phone number
j. be ready to undergo basic Police training and other forms of training

In addition to the general requirements, an Applicant who applies to this category must satisfy the requirements stated under the specific sub-category

1. BANDSMEN

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE together with the ability to Sight-Read, to play Woodwind, Brasswind and Percussion Instruments and the ability to play four (4) or more scales on one's chosen instrument. Possession of ABRSM Grade 4 and above is an added advantage.

2. CATERERS / HOSPITALITY

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following:

a. HND in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management and must have completed mandatory National Service;
b. HND in Hospitality Management and must have completed mandatory National Service;
c. GES (COTVET) Certificate II in Hospitality and Catering Management;
d. GES intermediate Certificate in Food and Beverage Service.

3. ELECTRICIANS

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following:

a. GES (COTVET) Certificate II in Electrical Engineering Technology;
b. GES Intermediate Certificate in Electrical Installation Work;
c. City & Guilds Certificate in Electrical Engineering.

4. ELECTRONICS / AUTO ELECTRICIANS / ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess a minimum of any of the following;

a. COTVET Certificate II;
b. GES Intermediate Certificate;
c. City & Guilds Certificate in Electronics, Auto Electrician and Electrical Engineering.

5. ENT NURSES

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in ENT Nursing

6. INTENSIVE CARE NURSES

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Intensive Care Nursing

7. MARINE TECHNICIANS (ELECTRICAL / MECHANICAL)

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following certificates or its equivalence:

a. GES (COTVET) Cert II in Mechanical Engineering Technology;
b. GES Intermediate Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice;
c. GES Mechanical Engineering Technician Part II & III;
d. GES Advanced Craft Cert in Mechanical Engineering Practice;
e. GES Electrical Engineering Technician Part II & III (Heavy Power Option); f. GES Advanced Craft in Electrical Installation Work.

8. MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANTS

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE together with Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology plus two (2) years qualification internship.

9. METAL SMITH AND WEAPON FITTERS (ARMOURERS)

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following:

a. GES (COTVET) Certificate II in Mechanical Engineering Technology
b. GES Intermediate Certificate in Welding Craft Practice;
c. GES (COTVET) Certificate II in Welding and Fabrication Technology;
d. City and Guilds Certificate in Electrical and Gas Welding.

10. MIDWIVES

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Midwifery

11. MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS AND DRIVERS

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following in addition to professional Driving License Class D (minimum) which should not be less than two (2) years old:

a. GES (COTVET) Certificate II in Automobile Engineering;
b. GES Intermediate Certificate in Vehicle Mechanic;
c. City & Guilds Certificate in Mechanical Engineering;
d. City & Guilds in Intermediate (Internal Combustion Engines and Motor Vehicle)

12. NURSE ANESTHETIST

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Anesthetic Nursing

13. OPHTHALMIC NURSES

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Ophthalmic Nursing

14. ORTHOPAEDIC NURSES

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing

15. PAINTING / SIGN WRITING

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following:

a. GES (COTVET) Certificate II in Creative Arts Design;
b. GES Intermediate Certificate in Painting and Decorating Craft;
c. NVTI Certificate II in Painting and Decoration

16. PHARMACY TECHNICIANS

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE together with HND in Dispensing Technology and at least one year working experience.

17. PHYSIOTHERAPIST ASSISTANTS

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE together with Certificate in Physiotherapy and at least one year working experience.

18. PROSECTOR

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE minimum of six credits (A1 to C6 at WASSCE, E8 for Mathematics) together with relevant training and at least one year working experience.

19. PSYCHIATRIC NURSES

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing

20. PUBLIC HEALTH NURSES

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Public Health Nursing

21. RADIO TECHNICIAN

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following:

a. City and Guilds Certificate in Electronics;
b. City and Guilds Certificate in Telecommunication.

22. RECORD AND ARCHIVE KEEPER

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following in addition to at least one year working experience:

a. Diploma in Archival Studies;
b. Diploma in Records Management from an accredited Institution of Higher Learning.

23. REFRIGERATION AND AIR CONDITIONING TECHNOLOGY

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following:

a. GES (COTVET) Certificate II in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology;
b. GES Intermediate Certificate in Refrigeration Mechanics;
c. City & Guilds Certificate in Refrigeration Technology.

24. REGISTERED GENERAL NURSING

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in General Nursing

25. SEAMEN

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018; must be an expert swimmer and must possess a minimum of six credits (A1 to C6 at WASSCE, E8 for Mathematics) including English Language and Mathematics.

26. SURVEYORS

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must possess any of the following:

a. GSSM Certificate in Survey and Mapping;
b. GSSM HND Certificate in Survey and Mapping.

27. TECHNICAL OFFICERS (DENTAL SURGERY ASSISTANTS)

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE together with a Diploma in Dental Surgery and at least one year working experience.

28. TECHNICAL OFFICERS (DENTAL TECHNOLOGY)

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE together with a Diploma in Dental Technology Option and at least one year working experience.

29. TECHNICAL OFFICERS (X-RAY)

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must have SSSCE / WASSCE together with a Diploma in Radiology Technology and at least one year working experience.

30. THEATRE NURSES (PERI-OPERATIVE)

In addition to the general requirements, Applicant must not be more than 27 years by 1st January, 2018 and must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and must possess at least a Diploma in Theatre (Peri-operative) Nursing
e. GES Electrical Engineering Technician Part II & III (Heavy Power Option); f. GES Advanced Craft in Electrical Installation Work.

A page will open, which will require the Applicant to CONFIRM VOUCHER or SIGN IN. Click on CONFIRM VOUCHER, a new page will open, which will require you to answer a few questions leading to the creation of account.

This is how to create an account:

i. enter the email address used in purchasing the Voucher;
ii. pick or choose any password which will be known to you alone and which you can remember;
iii. confirm the password; and
iv. verify the Voucher purchased by entering the Serial Number and PIN.

Create a profile. To create a profile, enter your personal details such as your name, date of birth, age, height, nationality, etc. Choose a category of your choice. Enter your educational background details. Upload a passport picture of yourself.

Applicant should ensure that all information submitted is accurate. Review your information on the summary page
by reading through the summary page carefully. Click on the EDIT button if there are any changes to be made.

You may also SAVE your entries by clicking on the NEXT button. If you want to return to the page later to edit or continue with the entries, click on the LOG OUT button, or submit your application.

Submit your application by clicking on the GENERATE YOUR DECISION button to complete the first stage of the application process.
Once the GENERATE YOUR DECISION button is clicked, you cannot make any changes to the Application Form. The decision on the Application will show on the screen either as QUALIFIED for an Applicant who has qualified for the next stage of the application process or NOT QUALIFIED for an Applicant who has been disqualified.

The reasons for disqualification will be displayed on the page. Print and keep a copy of the generated report as you will be required to present it at the next stage of physical screening. An instant message will be sent to you by e-mail and text message, which reveals a tracking number for qualified Applicants.

If you are not qualified, you may purchase a new voucher and try a new category.
