•   Managing event budgets
•   Negotiating contracts and fees

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum 3 years experience as a marketing project coordinator, project consultant, or account executive in a fast-paced creative or marketing agency, studio, or in-house setting
•   Experience working on large special events
•   Minimum 3 years experience developing marketing plans and strategies, writing creative, promotional, or advertising copy across media for events
•   Proficiency with MS Office suite
•   Have excellent coordination skills

The Accra World Trade Centre Limited (AWTCL), a member of the prestigious World Trade Association (WTCA), a global network, whose membership includes over 320 World Trade Centres operating in almost 100 countries. AWTCL has the mission to integrate Ghanaian businesses into the worldwide alliance of World Trade Centres that provide businesses with services and facilities to make the conduct of international trade easier, faster and cheaper, leading to economic growth and prosperity.

Key responsibilities and duties of the role

•  Overall planning, organization and management of all WTC Accra events, including conferences, exhibitions, seminars, product launches, etc.
•  Providing project management and leadership during the planning and execution of events
•  Preparing event production schedule, timely execution and communication of production status and on-site event management
•  Working closely with internal and external event planners and client groups to define event goals, objectives and specific implementation plans to ensure that events are of the highest quality and promote WTC Accra’s brand
•  Procuring and managing the logistics requirements of all events and supervision of on-site staff
•  Negotiating agreements with external service providers and subcontractors to ensure the lowest cost and highest quality of service, and supervising and coordinating their activities to ensure successful on-time execution of events
•  Managing all aspects of financial control for each event, including budgeting, cost tracking, reconciliation, and communication of financial outcomes
•  Overseeing the production of event sales prospectus and other literature, space assignments, booth specifications and master floor plan maintenance, exhibitioners’ stand and move-in/move-out schedule
•  Producing event debrief report and presentation including participant statistics and survey summaries
•  Develop a calendar of events and implement a planning system that ensures maximum utilization of WTC Accra’s conference and exhibition facilities.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  master’s degree in business, marketing or communications
•  A minimum of 8 years’ experience in similar position with event management responsibilities


•  Fluency in French and other major international languages.

•  Excellent organization and time management, including the ability to plan comprehensively, set priorities, and manage multiple projects/deadlines efficiently
•  Excellent presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
•  Energetic personality and excellent team player
•  Capacity to create effective team-oriented work atmosphere
•  Ability to work under pressure and with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
•  Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to establish productive relationships and liaise and negotiate with all levels of staff, management and external parties.
•  Ability to gather and interpret information for business research
•  Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet)
•  Attention to detail and ability to create and maintain accurate    paper records.
