Booking,com BV (the company behind Booking,com™, the market leading online hotel reservation service in the world) and/or its various support companies throughout the world are looking for people to support the business in the fast-growing hotel markets.

Booking,com (Ghana) Limited, one of the support companies in Ghana, is looking for an Account Manager Hotels in Accra.

As an Account Manager you are responsible for hotel account management initially. You support Booking,com BV’s acquisition of new hotels in a specific area in Ghana. You create quantity and quality reports on results and performance for information support to Booking,com. You inform hotels about Booking,com. You provide hotels the (initial) training on how to use Booking.com’s system. You will assist the Supply Manager Ghana on the improvement of hotel availability and supply in order to support Booking.com in meeting the demands of the visitors on the Booking.com website.

This fulltime position will be based in our new office in Accra.

Main Responsibilities:

• Visit the important hotels in Ghana;
• Support Booking,com BV’s-strategy for hotel availability and supply within Ghana;
• Promote the Booking,com BV brand name and its online reservation services to hotels;
• Responsible for area coverage;
• Inform hotels and advise on allotment, availability and supply;
• Rate checks and competitor checks;
• Liaison person for hotels to contact when they have questions;
• Providing hotels with information and advice by mail and email, including follow-ups;
• Follow up on cancellations and evaluations;
• Accompany and train hotels on how to use Booking,com’s extranet and rates & availability system;
• Support hotels with regards to Booking,com’s system;
• Organize and coordinate Tourist Trade Fair visits to liaise with hotels;
• Check statistics in the control room and follow up.
• You will also need to be versatile and adapt quickly to the latest guidelines from Booking,com BV.

Qualification Required & Experience

• 2 years of experience in a relevant account management function;
• Fluent English speaker and writer; and other local languages would be benefitial.
• Affinity/experience within e-travel and/or hotel/travel industry;
• Pro-active, sense of responsibility, friendly and can work independently;
• Quick and resourceful, flexible, accurate, strong analytical skills and an eye for detail;
• Great face-to-face and telephone communication skills;
• Team player, motivated and enjoys to work in e-travel and hospitality;
• Positive attitude;
• Hotel School or University background preferred;
• Driver’s license;
• Availability to travel 50% of the time;
• You already have a work permit to work in Ghana.

•   Have sound knowledge of at least one accounting software
•   Possess good knowledge of Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and others)
•   Should have good command of English and French (spoken, comprehension and written)

Responsibilities:

•   The Project Accountant will be responsible for all accounting, internal control and other financial management functions of NEDCo’s Project Implementation Unit as well as supervision of the projects finance section staff therein.
•   The Project Accountant will be responsible for all financial management functions of NEDCo’s PIU as well as the supervision of the projects Accounting/Finance Section staff therein.
•   The Project Accountant will report to the Project Manager and will support NEDCo to ensure the financial requirements under the Projects are developed and implemented efficiently and effectively.
•   The Project Accountant will prepare annual work plans for approval by the Steering Committee/NEDCo Management depending on the source of funding and quarterly progress reports on assignment outputs as well as an end-of-assignment report that is to be signed off by the Project Director.
•   The Project Accountant will also establish close and cooperative working relationships with the Project Accountants of the Funding Agencies and the Financial Controller and Internal Auditor of Ministry of Finance in the case of donor funded projects and NEDCo’s Director, Finance and Commercial for projects funded from NEDCo’s internally generated funds.
•   Undertake any other responsibility that will ensure smooth and effective implementation of NEDCO’S projects.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, ICAG holder or equivalent) preferably with a Bachelor’s degree in Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance;
•   Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance will be an advantage
•   At least 6-10 years of post-qualification experience of work in a complex environment including managing an accounting department and donor-funded project accounts. Audit experience would be an added advantage;
•   Knowledge of international financial reporting standards & international standards on auditing;
•   Experience in interpreting financial management reports, analyzing variations to plans and determining remedial actions required;
•   Knowledge of public sector accounting procedures and operational knowledge of international and country financial and accounting management practices, including MIS applications
•   Computer Literate
