Afram Rural Bank is looking for a highly qualified, proactive, motivated and resourceful person to fill the above vacancy. The Internal Auditor reports to the Board of Directors of the Bank with copies to the General MAnager

The purpose of this appointment is to carry out internal control programmes and support the bank’s units and inform management of the extent to which operational controls are in place and being implemented under the direction of the internal control unit.

To conduct investigations into all matters as directed by the General Manager and the Board of Directors

Key Responsibilities:

•  Plan, complete and report on internal control programmes undertaken within agreed time frame
•  To make recommendations for improvements in internal control procedures and programmes
•  To provide guidance to branches of the bank on control procedures
•  To verify that the bank’s operational and accounting controls are in place and working properly
•  To monitor control findings and follow-up on remedial actions
•  To disbrief management on branches control findings and to ensure procedures are in place to safeguard the bank’s assets
•  To investigate frauds and irregularities to prevent recurrence
•  Contributes to the control of risks and operational efficiency
•  Contributes to the development of internal control programmes

Any other jobs that may be assigned by the Board of Directors and or the General Manager.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Wide knowledge and experience in internal auditing
•  Ability to write clear, concise and constructive reports
•  1st Degree with minimum of 5 years rural banking experience
•  With in dept knowledge of Temenos T-24 emerge software
•  Not below 40 years of age

Job Summary

Reports:

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and review company business control systems for effectiveness and report to Management
• Audit routinely all established systems (financial & operational) for compliance with corporate policy and statutory requirements and propose corrective actions for identified deviations or weaknesses, as necessary
• Monitor, assess and analyse the company’s risks and controls, reviewing and confirming information and compliance with policies, procedures and laws
• Make recommendations for enhancing processes, policies and procedures
• Ensure internal audits are executed and documented to professional standards and also ensure compliance of company to established auditing standards
• Work with regulations external auditors and other key external stakeholders to support their governancne, risk management and control objectives
• Undertake adhoc audit assignments as set by the Board, CEO or Senior Management

Qualification Required & Experience

• First Degree in any subject plus either Certified Internal Auditor or a Professional Accountancy Certification. A post-graduate degree or equivalent would be a plus

Experience:

• 8-12 years with at least 3 years in a managerial role in internal audit

Required Personal Attributes:

• Hands-on, proactive, independent-minded individual with good people management skills
• Strong computer usage skills a requisite

Other:

• Knowledge of industry and manufacturing environment will be an advantage
• Familiarity with modern Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems a must, however, ability to learn can be considered
