Job Summary

ROLE TITLE: Business System Analyst
REPORTS TO: Business System Specialist
FUNCTION: Information Technology
DEPARTMENT: Finance

ROLE PURPOSE:

•  Under the supervision of Business Systems Specialist, provides support for all applications and databases in development, security and maintenance.
•  Support management of backup Exec and user training

Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the support of Applications, Databases, and user Training

•  Responsible for Supporting application systems and developing new in-house Applications on as need  basis
•  support user training
•  In-charge of all server and database backup and Recovery policies and procedures

Key Activities / Decision Areas

•  Responsible for user administration of all applications systems
•  Responsible for 1st level system support of all the Business and Mining Applications hosted by IT.
•  Specifications for all Business Applications and Mining hosted by IT.
•  Performs regular back-up of all servers and ensures others comply with back-up policies and procedures for all applications and platforms as directed by Business Specialist.
•  Executes recovery procedures according to established guidelines for all supported applications.
•  Administers appropriate security by granting access privileges for applications and users of database objects and ensures that all applications are properly licensed
•  Uses appropriate tools to monitor database physical space usage and takes appropriate and timely corrective actions when needed.
•  Responsible for the day to day monitoring of critical business systems, and the immediate escalate any unresolved issues to Business System Specialist where necessary.
•  Keep up to date documentation on operational framework, processes and procedure on all applications and databases.
•  Assists client Support team in resolving end-user application issues in a timely and professional manner.
•  Support Business system specialist in user training
•  Any other assignment as prescribed by Business System Specialist or HoIT

Qualification Required & Experience

•  BA or B.Sc in computing or business related discipline
•  Professional certification in SQL, Oracle, Informix, MCITP (etc.
•  Hands on experience on PHP, SQL, Joomla ,Crystal Reports and SharePoint
•  Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude.
•  Results oriented and meets deadlines
•  Good work ethics and personal behaviour
•  Good communication skills and good telephone manners
•  Innovative

ROLES
Key responsibilities and duties of the role

Business Development

Essential

•  Advanced degree in international trade, economics or business administration
•  A minimum of 8 years’ experience in international business development, marketing or consulting

Desirable

Fluency in French and other international languages

•  Exceptional and an experienced sales professional, with the ability to promote events, products and services
