Job Summary

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

•   The resolution of technical issues and technical training through close cooperation with the Site Manager and end users.
•   Providing high quality communication, technical support, training material and warranty claim processing for the related products,
•   Communicating service and other relevant activities to the Site Manager through daily service reports or appropriate medium i.e. e-mail and telephone communications.
•   Providing warranty support as required, and assisting in the determination of failures and possible causes.
•   Maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting numerous types of equipment as supplied by Atlas Copco, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, drive systems and diesel engines.
•   Ensuring the proper handling of all testing and repair tools.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Possess at least a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical, Automotive, Engineering, Electrical or Agricultural Engineering.
•   Must have at least (3) years relevant post-qualification experience in Field Service. Preference will be given to those who have worked on either Atlas Copco Surface Drills or Hitachi/ Caterpillar/Komatsu excavators or surface drill rigs,
•   Ability to interpret and explain the hydraulic/electric schematic diagrams.
•   Must have a significant understanding and experience in trouble shooting hydraulics, low voltage electrics, air systems and RCS systems.
•   The preferred candidates must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic.
•   Must be weil organized and able to work with little or no supervision

Purpose of the Position

•   To provide assistance to the Pumping test technician in the pump testing of boreholes.
•   S/he would be assisting the pumping test technician in handling of pumping test equipment at the field and ensure their safe keeping in the field and at the office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Assist in reviewing the site work plan and become familiar with information on the wells to be tested.
•   Assist to check and ensure the proper operation of all field equipment.
•   Assist to assemble a sufficient number of field data forms to complete the field assignment.
•   Assist the Pumping test technician in the  planning and execution of pumping test work schedule
•   Assist to conduct pumping test on  all wet wells
•   Assist to sample water for water quality analysis
•   Assist to carry out water level recovery measurements.
•   Assist in the compilation of data for technical reports and WASH Field monitoring system as required by the pumping test technician
•   Assist to repair or replace all broken or damaged equipment.
•   Ensure safety of pumping test equipment and other accessories
•   Ensure prompt reporting on the malfunctioning of any equipment

Qualification Required & Experience

•   HND in any technical field
•   Certificate in mechanics or any technical field
•   2 years of experience in drilling or any mechanical or technical field related to groundwater exploration and development
•   Must possess a valid driver’s license.
•   Must be computer literate
•   Must be proactive with a high level of initiative, innovation, drive and a strong team player with interpersonal skills.
•   Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
•   Attend and participate/lead in daily devotions.
