Ghana Armed Forces Recruitment For Air Force Candidates (Nationwide Recruitment) – 2014

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY.

1.Eligible applicant must:

a.Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth.
b.Be of good character.
c.Be not less than 18 years and not more than 25 years by 31st December, 2014.
d.Be medically fit by Armed Forces standards.
e.Be not married.
f.Be not bonded.
g.Be of minimum height of 1.68m (5’6”) for males and 1.57m (5’2”) for females. For Military Police only; be of a minimum height of 1.75m (5’9”) for males and 1.70m (5’7”) for females.
h.Must have six (6) Credits (Not less than Grade 6) at BECE including English and Mathematics.

a.       Administration Branch.

(1)     Air Force Police.   In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.

(2)     General Duties Clerk. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.
(b)     RSA Stage II in secretarial duties and credit in typing.
(c)     Typist Grade I and II Certificate from Government Secretarial School.
(d)     Stenographer Grade II Certificate.
(e)     DBS (Secretarial Option).

(3)     Bandsmen. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits(Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)     Ability to sight-read musical notes.
(b)     Ability to play Wood wind or Brass instruments.
(c)     Proficiency in Basic Music (ABRSM) Grade 4. Theory will be an added advantage.

(4)     General Duties.  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.

(5)     Hospitality & Catering Management.  In addition to General   Eligibility applicants must have any of the following.

(a)     6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE (Home Economics Option) including English and Mathematics.
(b)    Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Management.
(c)    Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Hospitality    and Catering Management.

b.      Supply Branch.

(1)     Storeman/Supplier. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE (Business Option) including English and Mathematics.
(b)     City and Guilds or GES certificate in storekeeping/purchasing and supply.

(2)      Cobblers / Leather Works & Tailor.         In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in any of the above.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in any of the above.

c.       Engineering Branch.

(1)     Airframe, Engines, Radio, Electronic, Instruments, Photo and Armament Trades.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE (Science or Technical Option) including English and Mathematics
(b)     City and Guilds or GES Certificate in electronics.

(2)     Plumbers/Masons/Welders/Machinist/Carpenters/Refrigeration         In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have Ghana Education Service (GES) or City and Guilds Intermediate Certificate in the related field.

(3)     Safety and Surface.      In addition to the General Eligibility all applicants must have 6 credits at WASSCE including English, Mathematics and credit in Graphics and Design or Fine Art.

(4)     Vehicle Mechanic.  In addition to the General Eligibility all applicants must have City and Guilds Intermediate or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate in Auto Mechanics/Auto Electrician plus a Professional Driver’s License of minimum class C

d.     Air Branch.

(1)      Air Traffic Controller/Operations Clerks. In addition to General Eligibility   applicants must have 6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE including English, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
(2)     Aero Firemen.   In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (Not less than C6) at WASSCE, including English and Mathematics plus a driving licence class D.

e.     Medical Corps

In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credit in English and Mathematics (Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE and any of the following from accredited institutions:

(1)  Nurses –   Diploma: Registered General Nurse (RGN). Certificate: Health Assistants (Clinical)/Community Health.
(2)   Laboratory Technicians – Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
(3)  Laboratory Assistants – Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology.
(4)  Dispensing Technicians – HND Dispensing/ Pharmacy Technology.
(5)   X-Ray Technicians – Diploma in Radiography.
(6)  Dental Surgery Assistants – Diploma/Certificate in Dental Surgery Assistance.
(7)  Dental Technicians – Diploma in Dental Technology
(8)  Environmental Health Officers – Diploma in Environmental Health and Sanitation.
(9)  Environmental Health Assistants – Certificate in Environmental Health and Sanitation.
(10)  Field Technician – Certificate in Community Health.
(11)  Medical Storemen – HND in Purchasing & Supply.
(12)  Technical Officers – Diploma in Health Information or Diploma in Disease, Control or Diploma in Veterinary Technology.

(1)    Writer (General Duties).  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 Credits at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Commercial Examination Certificate Stage II.
(b)     Certificate/Diploma in Computer Software Application (MS Office) from a recognised institution.
(c)     Stenographer GD II.

(2)     Writer (Pay).  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 Credits at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)      RSA Stage III in Accounting.
(b)     Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting Option).

(3)     Stores.  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 Credits at WASSCE (Business Subjects) including English and Mathematics.
(b)     GES Technical Examinations Unit Certificate in Storekeeping/Purchasing & Supply/Certificate in Logistics & Transport (CILT)
(c)     CIPS level II.
(d)     HND Purchasing and Supply.

(4)     Physical Training Instructors.  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have the following:

(a)     6 Credits at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.
(b)     Must be a skilled sportsman in at least two sports with proven participation at district or regional level in Ghana.

(5)     Cooks/Stewards.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 Credits at WASSCE (Home Economics option) including English, Mathematics.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Management.
(c)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Hospitality and Catering Management.

(6)     Tailors.   In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Tailoring.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Tailoring.

(7)     Bandsmen. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits(Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)     Ability to sight-read musical notes.

c.       Technical Branch.

In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have Certificate in Computing or Information Technology (IT) from any recognised computing or IT Institution as a general requirement for all technical branch applicants.

(1)     Engineering Artificers and Mechanics.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 credits at WASSCE (Science Option) with Credit (Not less than C6) including English and Mathematics.
(b)     Marine Engine Mechanics Certificate or equivalent from any recognised institution.
(c)     City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or Equivalent certificate from recognised institutions in any of the following:

(i)      Mechanical Engineering Craft and Advance Practice.
(ii)      Mechanical Engineering Technical Part II and III.
(iii)     Advance/Ordinary Technician Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

(2)      Electrical and Weapon Artificers and Mechanics.  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 credits at WASSCE (Science Option) with Credit (Not less than C6) in English and Mathematics.
(b)     City and Guild or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or equivalent certificate from recognised institutions in any of the following:

(i)      Electrical Engineering Technician Part II and III (Heavy Power Option)
(ii)      Advance/Ordinary Technician Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power Option).

(3)        Shipwright Artificers and Mechanics. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 credits at WASSCE with Credit (Not less than C6) in English Mathematics, Metal work or Wood work and Physics.
(b)  City and Guild or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate in any of the following:

(i)       Advance Craft in Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing, Carpentry/Woodwork or Painting and Decoration or;
(ii)      Advance or Intermediate Certificate in Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing, Carpentry/Woodwork or Painting and Decoration.

(4)     Radio Artificers and Mechanics. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     6 credits at WASSCE (Science Option) including English,   Mathematics and Physics.
(b)     City and Guild or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or equivalent from recognised institutions in any of the following:
(c)     Advance or Intermediate in Radio, Television and Electronics Servicing.
(d)     Electrical Engineering Technician Part II or III (Electronics Option)

(5)     Refrigeration Mechanics.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or equivalent certificate in Refrigeration and or Air conditioning Technology (Advance or Intermediate)

(6)     Vehicle Mechanics and Drivers.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Vehicle Mechanic and Driving.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Vehicle Mechanic and Driving.
(c)     City and Guilds Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.

(7)     Topo Draughtsman/Architectural Drafting.  In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Topo Draughtsman/Architectural Drafting.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Topo Draughtsman/Architectural Drafting.

d.        Medical Corps:

In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credit in English and Mathematics (Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE and any of the following from accredited institutions:

(8)    Topo Draughtsman/Architectural Drafting.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Architectural Drafting.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Architectural Drafting.

(9)     Plant Operators (Grader, Excavator, Dozer, Backhoe, Wheel Loader, Low Bed and Compactor Roller).  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in any of the plants stated above.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in any of the plants stated above.

d.   Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps (EME).

(1)     Motor Vehicle Engineering. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering with Driving Licence Class D.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Vehicle Engineering with Driving Licence Class D.
(c)     City and Guilds Intermediate (Internal combustion Engines and Motor Vehicles) with Driving Licence Class D.
(d)     City and Guilds Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering Driving with Licence Class D.

(2)     Auto Electrician & Electrical/Electronic Engineering.   In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

( a)    Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in one of the above.

(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in one of the above.

(c)     City and Guilds in one of the above.

(3)    Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)    Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in one of the above.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in one of the above.
(c)     City and Guilds in one of the above.

(4)     Metal Smith & Weapon Fitters.  In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in one of the above.

(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in one of the above.

(c)     City and Guilds Certificate in Electric and Gas Welding.

(5)     Office Machine Mechanic & Industrial Mechanic. In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology.
(c)     City and Guilds in Refrigeration Technology.

(6)     Driver Recovery Mechanics.   In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Mechanical Recovering.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Mechanical Recovering.

(7)     Wood Construction Technology/Creative Art Technology.     In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:

(a)     Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Wood Construction Technology and Creative Art Technology.
(b)     Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in Wood Construction Technology and Creative Art Technology.
(c)     City and Guilds Certificate in Carpentry and Painting.

e.      Signals Corps.

(1)     Operation Group.    In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.  Possession of valid driving license is an advantage.
(2)     Radio Technician.    In addition to the General Eligibility applicant much have Mathematics, Physics, Elective Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)     City and Guilds Certificate in Electronics.
(b)     City and Guilds Certificate in Telecommunications.

(3)     Line Technician.   In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(a)     Certificate in Fibre Optics Technology.
(b)     Certificate in RF Engineering.
(c)     Certificate in Satellite Communications.

f.       Directorate of Information Technology.

In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(1)     Network Technicians.  N+ Certificate from a recognised Institution including knowledge in LINUX/Windows Server 2003 and 2008 management.
(2)     Database Administration. Certification in MySQL, SQL, and Oracle from a recognised Institution.
(3)     Computer Programming Language. Certification inVB, C++ and Java from a recognised Institution.
(4)     Web Design. Certification in HTML, PHP, CSS, CMS and Photoshop from a recognised Institution.

g.      Supply and Transport Corps.

In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits(Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:

(1)     Drivers. Professional Driving Licence Class D.
(2)     Supply Clerks/Storeman.  Certificate in Storekeeping/Marketing Grade II or Stenographer/Typist Grade I.
(3)     Movement. Certificate in Freight Forwarding/Air Ticketing/Cargo Handling from recognised Institution.
(4)     Fireman/Woman. Certificate in Fire Fighting from National Fire Service plus professional Driving Licences class D.

h.      Public Relations Corps.

(1)     Information Assistants. In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in Journalism, Public Relations, English Language /Literature, Broadcasting, Communication Studies or Photo journalism.
(2)     Photographers.   In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in general photography.
(3)     Cinematographer.      In addition to General Eligibility applicant must have Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from a recognised/accredited institution in Fine Art, Film Editing, Camera Work, Lighting, Film Directing, Sound, Graphic Design or Animation.

i.        Medical Corps.

In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credit in English and Mathematics (Not less than grade C6) at WASSCE and any of the following from accredited institutions:

(1)  Nurses –   Diploma: Registered General Nurse (RGN). Certificate: Health Assistants (Clinical)/Community Health.
(2)   Laboratory Technicians – Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
(3)  Laboratory Assistants – Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology.
