Role summary

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks. The Information Technology Manager manages and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

Essential Duties & Responsibility include:

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer science/engineering, or Information systems from a four year university is essential.
•   MBA would be an added advantage

Career Experience

•   5+ years of Information technology experience is required.
•   Exposure to Airline Industry would be advantageous

Purpose of the Position

•   The primary process accurately and on a timely basis the data of children in program received from communities on one hand and the data of sponsors and children received from Support offices on the other so as to ensure the flow of Registered Children (RC) information between the Area Development Programme (ADP) and Support Officers (SOs), and to also ensure the smooth integration of Sponsorship Diskette (SD) to Sponsorship Tracking Enhancement Programmes (STEP) 1 and Quick STEP

Major Responsibilities

•   Capture on daily basis child monitoring and participation information in the STEP/SD system through typing, scanning and Personal Device Accessories (PDA) reading so that all registered child information is electronically stored and accessible to stakeholders
•   Use systems and mechanism to check, and verify the accuracy and completeness of the data and information received from the Volunteers and securely held in the database so that a functional Quality control assurance is existing at ADP level
•   Follow up on outstanding sponsorship issues and in collaboration with the Sponsorship officer address the issues and respond appropriately
•   Conduct orientation, basic training and share updates on STEP processes to staff and as permitted and necessary, with community volunteers so that all are familiar with changes and with requirements that are compatible with the STEP/SD system
•   General Management Reports and provide information on the well being children to inform programming
•   Process and forward child images to Support Offices and sponsors
•   Performing routine (daily, weekly, monthly) maintenance and housekeeping tasks on STEP systems and processes and perform basic IT technical functions at ADP level including but not limited to Scanning diskettes/hard drive before using it on STEP system so that service is reliable and the STEP system and hard disk are virus free

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Certificate in Information Technology or Database management
•   Diploma in computing, statistics or relevant social sciences is desired
•   One or Two years experience in an environment of data capture, analysis and management

•   The incumbent must be able to build trust amongst all their contacts, across all levels within the organization in order to build a foundation for long term relationships and information exchange
•   Excellent knowledge of a range of Telecommunications and Network Services with particular emphasis on:

1)   CCIE Voice, or CCVP
2)   Polycom or Tandberg
3)   H323, SIP, SCCP, MGCP, etc.
4)   Microsoft Lync
5)   Asterisk IP PBX, Voice Mail,
6)   Unix/Lunix System Admin and Scripting
7)   IP Conferencing

•   Ability to work under pressure and hit deadlines.
•   Excellent written and verbal communication is required
•   Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with a collaborative style
•   Exceptional communication skills, including issue resolution, negotiation and conflict management
•   Broadly skilled in information and communications technology
•   Strong verbal, written, presentation and customer service skills (clarity of messages, crispness in delivery, timeliness, and accuracy) required.
•   The ability to adapt to the requirements of the customer, the needs of the sponsors, its environment and people working on it to ensure a successful outcome.
