Job Summary

•   Provide timely and accurate legal advice, on legal matters set out in the operational framework and casework guidelines.

•   Streamline and maintain the Institutions Insurance portfolio by coordinating insurance of  company’s assets and maintaining contracts for all insurance
•   Oversee compliance with tax laws and state regulations
•   Increase knowledge of the role and functions of state regulations available to assist the day to day activities of the institution
•   Develop, provide and participate in information, educational programs, and submissions to reform policies and laws relating to microfinance institutions
•   Prepare legal opinions and advise the management on general issues that may arise from time to time
•   Provide advice on any litigations affecting the Institution
•   Provide legal advisory and interpretation services to the management on various aspects on the existing law and regulatory requirements.
•   Prepare policy papers and instruments, which have legal implications for consideration by appropriate authorities.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Bachelors Degree in Law with a minimum of a Second Class Upper and should have been called to the Ghana Bar Association.
•   The custodian of this position should have a minimum of 7/8 years experience in legal services for clients and the institution, drafting of legal documents, research and court attendance, experience in corporate law practice, engage easily with clients, think analytically and provide solutions to a mix of business and legal problems
•   Candidate must be available to start work as soon as possible.

The Director of Public Prosecutions is the Head of the Prosecutions Division of the Attorney-General’s Department and is thus the frontline person who undertakes prosecution in the name and on behalf of the Attorney-General. •   Perform any other functions that the Attorney-General may assign to him/her.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   The successful candidate must be a lawyer with not less than twelve (It) years standing at the Ghana Bar with a proven track record of law practice as a criminal defense attorney or a public prosecutor. A postgraduate degree in criminal law or criminology will be an added advantage. A deep knowledge of Ghana’s criminal justice system is required.
•   Additionally, the successful candidate must possess a high degree of objectivity and moral integrity. He or she must have the ability to analyse legal factual situations and present arguments clearly and cogently.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of the International Law Division is the Head of the International Law Division of the Attorney-General’s Department. The Division is generally responsible for matters of international law, particularly matters relating to the international legal obligations of the Republic. •   Advising the Attorney-General and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies on matters pertaining to the international legal obligations of Government under the Constitution and any other law in force, including, but not limited to, international treaties, conventions and customary principles of international law;

•   Supervise the staff attorneys of the International Law Division;

Qualification Required & Experience

•   The successful candidate must be a lawyer with not less than twelve (12) years standing at the Ghana Bar and a minimum of five years practical experience in either the teaching of International Law, working for an international organisation or advising international clients. A Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in Public International Law or any of its allied disciplines (e.g., International Trade Law, International Investment Law and International Commercial Transactions Law) will be an advantage.
