Generally responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of Government approved pre-tertiary educational policies and programmes at the Regional or National level of Education at the direction of the Director-General.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•   Provide technical advice to the Director-General on matters relating to pre-tertiary educational policies and programmes at the Regional or National levels of education.
•   Lead and coordinate the implementation of pre-tertiary educational policies and programmes at the Regional or National levels of education. Lead the assessment of the implementation of pre-tertiary educational policies and programmes at the Regional or National levels of education. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

•   Be able to serve a minimum of three (3) years after first appointment before reaching the compulsory retirement age of 60 years.
•   Salary and Conditions of Service, as laid down by the Ghana Education Service.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A minimum of a master’s degree in Management, or related discipline from a recognized University
•   A serving certified professional teacher in the Ghana Education Service.
•   A Director II with a minimum of three (3) years substantive work experience in the rank.
•   Have a satisfactory work history, proven performance and exemplary conduct.

The ideal person inter alia must:

•   Be a holder of a PhD degree or its equivalent in the relevant areas of the Council’s mandate.
•   Be a distinguished and outstanding Research Scientist of national and inter¬national repute, with substantial research output and experience in R&D.
•   Have proven leadership and management abilities to manage a scientific institution, with at least 12 years management experience in top management position
•   Have creative vision and drive, and be capable of translating Council’s strategic plan into strategic decisions and action programmes.
