Position: Senior Exploration Geologist

The successful candidate will perform and/or supervise moderately complex geological duties related to Greenfields and Brownfields Exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Perform Geological, Structural and Regolith mapping;
•   Perform detailed geological data review to determine prospective targets;
•   Oversee soil sampling, trenching, and various forms of exploratory drilling;
•   Monitor and control varied samples, ensure adequate insertion of QAQC samples, and perform Geological Interpretation.;
•   Collect, compile, analyze exploration data, and recommend appropriate follow up programs;
•   Prepare budgets as well as complete projects on budget and within planned time frames;
•   Write comprehensive reports on a scheduled basis for review by senior management, and regulatory agencies;
•   Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A degree in Geosciences or related field with knowledge of geological principles;
•   Minimum of five (5) years post qualification work experience preferably in greenstone belts;
•   Good Computer Skills in related packages;
•   A sound understanding of geological mapping principles;
•   A strong understanding of structural geology;
•   Should have a working knowledge of Geological Software (ArcGIS, MicroMine, Leapfrog, Vulcan etc) and project peer-reviews;
•   Leadership experience and a strong desire to coach and develop others;
•   Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
•   Ability to work under pressure with little supervision;

Position: Materials Planner

Key Responsibilities:

•   Develop and maintain a world-class mine Catalogue with classifications to facilitate good stock control ractices;
•   Determine correct ordering levels of material requirements to ensure optimal service levels, stock-turns and stockholding levels;
•   Develop, maintain and prepare weekly re-order reports to replenish stock items
•   Resolve complaints from end users regarding non-conforming items delivered or found in stock
•   Scrutinize Stock Introduction Forms to ensure adequacy of item descriptions/specs
•   Continually review stock movement patterns and advice users on re-classifying non-moving stocks as Obsolete or redundant
•   Continually review stocks with the view to moving significant, identifiable commodity groups into the contract environment to maximize acquisition cost to the company
•   Play early and active role in the stock introduction process with user departments to ensure standardization and variety reduction;
•   Design early warning system to identify items that may be running out earlier than projected
•   Ensure that Stores Requisitions unable to be served off the shelf are swiftly catered for
•   Ensure compliance company policies and procedures with respect to stock replenishment classification and re-classification of stocks, and resolution of quality complaints

Develop, maintain and regularly publish the following operational Reports:

•   Stock valuation
•   Stock-turn ratios for different categories of stock, and overall stock
•   Service level to the mine
•   Quality complaints received from end users
•   Significant stock-out situations

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Supply Chain or Logistics
•   Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply or equivalent professional institution;
•   Minimum of five (5) years Inventory Management working experience in Materials Planning for mining and process plant spares and consumables, PPEs and other safety-related equipment and consumables
•   Good Computer Skills in related packages;
•   Must be conversant with the Procurement Act and related regulations of the Republic of Ghana and internationally recognized warehouse/inventory standards
•   Thorough understanding of supply chain practices procedures
•   Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Procurement, Supply Chain in the Mining environment.
•   Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
•   Ability to work under pressure with little supervision

Position: Manager – Processing

Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, the incumbent will oversee the construction, commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization and operation of the plant.

The short and medium term focus of the role is to complete the construction and commissioning of the plant and to build up the capability to operate it effectively long-term. This will include the design and implementation of systems required for plant management, particularly the Management Operating System and coaching key personnel in plant operations. Thereafter the role will focus on meeting production goals by coordinating the activities of plant operations to maximize process efficiencies, costs and commodity recovery in a safe work place.

Core to this opportunity is to achieve production targets and oversee KPI activity.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Implement high level of processing operations and ensure best Safety, Health and Environmental standards and practices, including contractor health and safety;
•   Oversee and manage the Process department including Plant Engineering / Maintenance, Plant Operations, Metallurgy and Gold Room personnel, ensuring agreed KPI’s are met across all areas
•   Manage / accountable for the metallurgical input into the process plant operation, technical improvements, future development and equipment performance;
•   Manage / accountable for the process control system operation, improvement programs, system reliability, development and change management systems;
•   Management of the process laboratory, testing and reporting of results in line with standard operating procedures and recognised standards;
•   In charge of Stockpile management, Crushing/Conveying/Milling, Reagents, Concentrate and Tails, Metallurgical laboratory and Pumping
•   The Process Manager shall maintain close working relationship with mine operations, engineering, environmental, procurement and materials management.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must hold a BSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy;
•   At least 10 year’s experience working in an African context ideally in a gold mining company
•   Process Managers Certificate from Inspectorate division of Minerals Commission (MINCOM) within 3 months;
•   Must have an impeccable ethical track record;
•   Must have a good understanding of the ICMI Cyanide code;
•   Good understanding of relevant applicable legislations and Regulations;
•   BSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy;

KRGL is seeking to employ a qualified person to fill the role below. This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment. The camp’s facilities include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi access, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (swimming pool, gym, volleyball/basketball, tennis, pool tables, table soccer, soccer grounds). Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Position: Unit Manager – Laboratory

Reporting to the Manager Processing, the short and medium term focus of the role is to complete the set up and commissioning of the laboratory and to build up the capability to operate it effectively long-term. This will include the design and implementation of systems required for laboratory management, particularly the Management Operating System and coaching key personnel in laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Implement and maintain safety, health and environmental policies and procedures, and ensure to maintain a healthy working environment
•   Complete management of the laboratory and its employees to ensure achievement of targets;
•   Oversee hundreds of daily determinations, applying extensive fire assaying technique, along with some atomic absorption;
•   Oversee preparation and analysis of mining samples from the open pit, e.g. blast samples, drill core samples, stockpiles;
•   Oversee preparation and analysis of process milling samples taken from crushing, grinding, flotation, adsorption, electrowinning and casting stages;
•   Manage all analytical instrumentation, practices, and operations;
•   Supervise assay lab technicians;
•   Review and assign assay lab priorities and personnel as required;
•   Schedule all needed maintenance to resolve issues relating to the laboratory operations;

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelors degree in analytical chemistry or a related chemical technology diploma;
•   5+ years assay laboratory management experience in a gold mining company;
•   Gold processing production-oriented assaying experience is a must
•   Fire assaying expertise;
•   Excellent reporting skills;
•   Hands-on, energetic, go-getter, on-the-ground approach is essential;
•   Good computer skills in Microsoft office applications and other related packages for this position
•   High technical ability in problem solving, analytical capabilities with special emphasis on laboratory;
•   Leadership experience and thorough understanding of good laboratory practices;
•   A strong desire to coach and develop others by sharing skills and knowledge;
•   Well developed oral and written communication skills;
•   Very good inter departmental relationship;
•   Must be able t oprepare and work with in budget and timelines;
•   Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license and have the ability to drive in rough terrain.

Position on the organisational structure

Job purpose
Providing analytical and implementation support to Continuous Improvement function to ensure the implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives, methodologies, strategies and associated techniques/technology for delivery of substantial cost reductions and efficiency improvements.

Main objectives

Effective analytical support is provided for the Continuous Improvement function

•   Act as CI team’s primary resource for accessing relevant production and cost data
•   Provide fact-base to help CI team identify priorities, solve root-causes and identify significant cost saving ideas
•   Directly assist Idea Owners to complete Idea Forms
•   Reinforce CI team’s high standards for Idea Form requirements
•   Provide analytic support for weekly review and for updates to relevant departments
•   Maintain the team’s database of Ideas and oversee tracking of all ideas

Effective implementation support is provided for the Continuous Improvement function

•   Assist Idea Owners to develop effective work plans for ideas
•   Assist Idea Owners with any analytical requirements to implement ideas
•   Assist Idea Owners to track ideas to ensure the deliver results and are sustainable
•   Assist Idea Owners to meet sign off requirement for Ideas
•   Highlight ideas that are under/over performing to the rest of team
•   Develop automated tools for wiring (scorecards, results charts)

Qualification Required & Experience

•   3+ years working experience preferably in a mining environment

Knowledge and Skills
