Key responsibilities:

•   Maintain an active involvement and influential position with relevant regional professional, industry bodies, national governments and other stakeholders on issues in the technical domain that will define mining and its attractiveness as investment sector in the region.
•   Successful development of new knowledge and technology and the identification of Technical and Technology opportunities that will increase the potential for improved competitive positioning and investor attraction with resultant viability of growth opportunities in the region,
•   Develop an integrated Life of Business plan for the Region, through the integration of cross functional models based on the Life of Mine plans, taking due cognisance of current assets, growth plans and geological modelling based on new knowledge.
•   Support the operations in the region to optimise their business plans in line with the integrated regional Life of Business plan.
•   Improve operational profitability through the development, acquisition, customised regionalisation and implementation of technology throughout the region.
•   Identification of potential green fields expansion and synergy opportunities with existing operations.
•   Being aware of emerging as well as competitor trends in the technical domain to be able to pro-actively respond and maintain GF competitive edge.
•   Minimise the company’s riskexposure and prevent potential action against the company through pre-emptive action, timeous guidance and support to regional senior management on local and regional technical and legislative issues.
•   Technical due diligence to determine opportunities, risks, strengths and weaknesses regarding new ventures/business,
•   Environmental scanning and awareness to pre-empt possible changes in the socio political dynamics of the region that could have an impact on technical domain of the business, e.g. legislation, technical sktlls availability, etc.
•   Facilitate the establishment of a regional technical hub of knowledgeable and critical expertise aligned with future regional business challenges and strategies,
•   Drive technical development and innovation for business value add.
•   Strategic alignment and integration of technical systems, policies and procedures across the GF WA region.
•   “Health of the Technical Discipline – appropriately developed talent pool, alignment of the knowledge, skills and systems across the Region,
•   Oversee the effective implementation of group technical frameworks and provide the framework for localised succession management with appropriate skills transfer.

Qualification Required & Experience

The appointee should have:

•   BSc / diploma in a relevant technics! discipline such as, Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
•   Advanced Project Management
•   Strategic Mine Planning
•   Registered with professional body in the mining industry relevant to the profession
•   MSc degree or a postgraduate degree in relevant technical discipline such as, mining engineering, metallurgy or MBA will be desirable.

Experience Profile:

•   Minimum of 20 years operations experience of which 8 years must be operations management exposure specifically in a mining environment (open pit) and 5 years must have been spent in a senior management role.
•   Operational management experience.
•   Large mining company corporate experience.
•   Sound operational track record.

Materials Management:

•   To ensure that inventory and Warehouse Management plans are implemented in terms of demand forecast and inventory-holding strategies (Levels, vendor held/consignment percentiles, inventory turn and storage locations);
•   To ensure that the Supply Chain Operations unit complies with the required statutory requirements, i.e. explosives Act, Hazardous Substances, ISO 14001 (Environmental), production of MSOS’and that this is applied across the span of the functional area.
•   To ensure that strategic and tactical transportation & logistics plans are implemented for all inbound materials.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Hold formal tertiary qualifications in supply chain management or a similar business discipline.
•   Possess at least 10 years’experience working in a supply chain role in the mining sector, including hands-on experience in commodity management.
•   Have at least 10 years’experience working in a shared service environment, of which at least S years should be at a management level.
•   Proven leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
•   Technically competent in the effective application of MS Office Applications.
•   Content knowledge of supply choin methodologies such as SCOR.
•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
•   Medical fitness for the position and environment, and ability to work long hours under pressure.

Responsibilities:

Skills and Experience Required

•   At least 5 years’ experience at Managerial level, similar position or above in major metalliferous or precious metal open pit mining operations.
•   At least 10 years’ experience in open pit production in a gold mining operations with a leadership of a multi-disciplinary mining team in a medium to large open pit operation
•   Experience in managing costs and budgeting

•   Actively engage with PMGL’s Social Development to ensure all compensation payments are in place prior to mine projects works commencing.

•   Coordinate mining and mine projects teams to execute the production related strategic actions in the mine to meet overall Edikan Mine Business Plan/Annual Budgets.

•   Assist the GM to assess critical areas of the operations area to optimise performance and ensure personnel are ensuring best practice and performance.
•   Ensure production goals including but not limited to ounce production and cost are achieved in line with business objectives and budgets for the mine by optimising mineral resource utilisation, short term planning and ore extraction processes
•   Ensure that the operations departments are adequately staffed to achieve the set goals for the operation and have localisation and succession plans in place to ensure sustainability.
•   Develop the operations team both professionally and personally by managing individual performance, providing relevant training, having communication systems in place and encouraging participation in social and community projects.
•   Coordinate Mine Projects Management for the operation to achieve set targets and desired quality implementation.
•   Ensure that the operations departments perform at a level that meets the Safety, Health and Environmental objectives of the business.
•   Any other work as agreed or directed by the GM or his designate.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
•   Ghanaian Mine Managers Statutory Certificate (or equivalent).

Skills and Experience Required

•   At least 10 years at Mine Manager level or above in major metalliferous or precious metal mining operations.
•   Over 15 years in open pit mining operations with precious metal ore body experience.

Purpose of the job:

Abosso Goldfieids Limited is currently seeking a motivated Engineering Manager who will be responsible to manage, implement and control, comprehensive and effective engineering planned maintenance principles for the total mine site.
The role responsibility will include but not be limited to-all Open Pit Heavy Mining Plant and Equipment (HME), the metallurgical Process Plant, 24 MW Power Generation Plant during periods of national grid power outages plus residential village infra structural maintenance.
The appointee will also be required to ensure effective liaison with Government agencies such as the Inspector of Machinery plus electrical and water supply authorities.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will further be responsible to maintain all operational maintenance cost control within company guidelines, risk mitigating initiatives and critical parts analysis and inventory. He/she will maintain a safe and friendly environment and will ensure that effective engineering standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements. He/she will make use of knowledge, skill and experience to manage continuous improvement project identification and implementation. The appointee will be required to identify with the KPI/KPA’s of the Mine.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A recognised BSc graduate or equivalent Mechanical or Electrical engineering qualification
•   Sound business acumen and the ability to influence the main cost drivers in this environment
•   Advanced level of technical communications, personal interaction and presentation skills
•   Results-orientation to achieve production targets whilst ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and standards
•   Strong organisational skills to manage all mine maintenance and selected sustainable project work

He/she will ensure that management systems, policies and procedures are followed and resources are utilised effectively and efficiently to achieve production targets whiles Health & Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities

•   Develop and maintain Metallurgical Account, Reconcile procedures and coordinate the shipment of bullion
•   Develop daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for production, gold recovery and operating cost
•   Set and monitor operating budget and control systems for the consumables
•   Mentor and provide technical inputs into developmental training of junior metallurgists.
•   Ensuring Safety and environmental compliance
•   Active involvement in plant decision making process by way of reviewing and monitoring process parameters
•   Developing innovative and cost effective operating methodologies
•   Planning and managing plant shutdowns to maximize time available for plant maintenance and processing jobs whilst ensuring minimal production losses
•   Providing leadership, guidance, support and back-up to operational and maintenance personnel in order to develop a team, increase efficiency and achieve targets whilst adhering to mine standards and legislation
•   Providing technical input to all project evaluations e.g. capital expenditure proposals and/or plant/process modifications
•   Management of reline schedules of liner stock
•   Tailings dam operation and management

Qualification Required & Experience

Key Requirements

•   A Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical/Chemical Engineering or Higher National Diploma (Extraction Metallurgy) or its equivalent
•   A Government Certificate of Competency (Process Manager’s Certificate of Competency)
•   Minimum of 10 years working experience in metallurgical and mineral processing operation
•   Eight years working experience in a high tonnage throughput gold ore processing plant
•   Excellent technical and analytical skills
•   Excellent understanding of process control philosophy and systems
•   Be an innovative thinker, driven by results-achievement
•   Be resilient and resourceful and have a high level of integrity
•   Medical fitness for the job and the environment
•   A valid and current light duty vehicle license and proficiency in driving a light vehicle

It will be highly advantageous if applicant has:

•   Operation and management of a gyratory crusher and a secondary crushing plant
•   Operation and management of SAG mill/Ball mill/Pebble crushing Comminution circuit
•   Above average working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power

Purpose of the Job:
The Mineral Resources Department at Damang Mine is seeking to employ an experienced Unit Manager Resource Geologist who will apply acquired knowledge and experience to the creation of Grade Control and Resource models and reports.

The incumbent will oversee the work of modeling Geologists, and deliver high quality geological models few input into the Planning process as well as be responsible for the management of the resource and grade control modelling and all other related functions in the Mineral Resources Department.

Key Responsibilities

•   Management of the Resource and Grade Control Modelling function at Damang Gold Mine
•   Liaison with mining and processing departments to achieve the fully integrated, timely and cost effective transmittal of data required for uninterrupted mining and processing operations
•   The professional and cost effective management of departmental activities and resources to the completion of regular duties, tasks and special projects
•   Exploration within the mine concession
•   QA/QC and budgets
•   Resource estimation and reconciliation
•   The development of geological staff

Qualification Required & Experience

Key Requirements

•   A BS (Hons) from a nationally registered university in the field of Geological Engineering of Geology Extensive practical experience in resource modelling and geostatistical evaluation
•   Practical experience in open pit gold mining
•   A proven track record and demonstrated technical and managerial abilities for:
•   The use of 3D software in resource modeling (preferably Surpac and Datamine)
•   Structural geology and sedimentology as related to sediment hosted gold deposits
•   Design, cost estimation and scheduling for all aspects of a large scale drilling programs
•   Recognition as a competent person (in terms of resources modelling software
•   Medical fitness for the position and environment
•   It would be advantageous If applicants have
1)   Experience in hydro-thermal style ore deposits
2)   Experience in Brown fields exploration programs
3)   Experience in the use of Pit Optimization packages (Whittle)
4)   Experience in Ghanaian, African or international work outside their home country
