Job Summary

The Company’s Prestea underground operation is seeking to recruit suitably qualified Ghanaian for appointment as: Underground Maintenance Superintendent.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all maintenance activities and compliance with statutory regulations
• Prepare and implement maintenance schedules, equipment requirements and cost estimates;
• Ensure routine monitoring is carried out to meet compliance with company and regulatory standards;
• Design and implement pumping and other maintenance systems;
• Undertake studies and implement findings to optimise maintenance operations;
• Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs
• Review the operation of maintenance equipment and systems constantly to minimise unplanned downtime anticipate solutions to problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement;
• Ensure Minerals Commission and Machinery Inspection regulations relating to maintenance are met at all times;
• Ensure Maintenance staff are adequately trained, equipped and motivated to accomplish maintenance programs in a safe timely and cost effective manner;
• Present Monthly reports on maintenance works and provide explanations to deviations from plan;
• Ensure maximum safe working environment is maintained at all times and that all work is carried out with respect to the company’s safety & health and environment policies; and
• Perform any other related duties assigned from time to time by supervisor

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications and Required Competencies:

• Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics engineering with at least six (6) years hands-on experience in surface and underground equipment maintenance;
• Fluent with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
• Ability to estimate equipment requirements and selection of appropriate equipment;
• Ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment;
• Effective budgeting, planning and scheduling skills for both production and projects
• Knowedge in operations of undergrouund dewatering equipment;
• Knowledge in basic electrical reticulations;
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills;
• Effective management skillls and ability to train and mentor others;
• Willing to work extended hours to achieve tight deadlines
• Effective communication skills – both written and oral;
• Flexible rotations if critical circumstances need attention including night shift;
• High regard for safe work practices and procedures;
• Must possess a valid Ghanaian driver’s licence;
• Must be a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers

Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

•  Monitors the performances of all subordinates and ensures that maintenance works are being carried out in accordance with laid down procedures and best practices.
•  Maintains continuous communication with other supervisors to enable quick response to complaints on equipment/ machinery thus minimizing breakdowns periods.
•  Prepares notes on equipment/ mechanical faults and any other relevant information required for the next shift.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Must possess a Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent with at least five (5) years working experience in a similar role.
•  Must be a qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic.
•  Must have working knowledge on CAT, Volvo and Sandvik diagnostics Programmes.
•  Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Acts & Regulations.
•  Must have the ability to lead, motivate and get the best performance out of subordinates
•  Must be a computer literate – MS Office Suite.
•  Must be trained in the use of modern inspection methods, standards and practices (inspection and supervision techniques)
•  Must possess strong leadership skills.

Job Summary

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Must possess a Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent with at least fifteen (15) years working experience in a supervisory position.
•  Must be a qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic.
•  Must have experience on Cummunis generators, CAT/ Atlas Copco/ Sandvik/ Tamroc drills and Volvo equipment.
•  Must have working knowledge on CAT, Volvo and Sandvik diagnostics Programmes.
•  Must have a committed attitude towards onsite Health & Safety standards.
•  Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Acts & Regulations.

Job Summary:

African Underground Mining Services Pty Ltd (AUMS), currently West Africa’s largest and leading trackless underground mining contractor is seeking to recruit qualified Shift Bosses to fill vacancies at the Akwaaba Underground Operations at Kinross Chirano Gold Mine in the Western Region of Ghana.

Reports To: Site Manager
Location: Site Based – Chirano, Western Region-Ghana

Remuneration/Other Packages:

•  Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience
•  Meals provided whilst on site
•  Travel provided to and from work
•  Person recruited must be prepared to work a roster of 14 days on duty and 7 days off duty. However this is subject to change depending on company/client requirement

Qualification Required & Experience

•  Must be a Mining Engineer or long service Miner who has passed through all requirements and has a Shift Boss Certificate (Mine Captains Certificate will be viewed favourably)
•  Must be experienced in underground development operation including face management, ventilation circuits and services
•  Must have comprehensive knowledge in the Ghana Mine & Explosives Regulations
•  Must be capable of working without supervision
•  Must have knowledge in the operations of all underground machines
•  Must be computer literate and capable of reading and interpreting plans
•  Must be conversant with industrial safety, health and environmental requirements
