Description Of Job

Purpose of the Job:-
The Projects Department seeks to engage the services of an experienced and competent person to fill the position of Engineer Supervisor – Civil & Structural Design.  The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, drawing and preparing technical specifications for mine infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Prepare conceptual and detailed engineering designs for mine infrastructure projects
•  Ensure that Gold Fields Ghana Limited engineering policies and practices are integrated into designs
•  Implementation and enforcing compliance of Contract Policies and Procedures of the company
•  Production of drawings and sketches of projects are accomplished
•  Ensure agreed schedule targets are met and that designs take cognizance of the budget constraints
•  Ensure that engineering quality and safety standards are met
•  Prepares Bills of Materials, Weight Take-Offs, scope of works and other similar tasks as may from time-to-time to be assigned
•  Produce and revise quality AutoCAD drawings to Company standards
•  Ensure compliance with the highest standards in terms of safety (OHSAS 18001) and Environmental Management (ISO 14001)

Qualification Required & Experience

Key Requirements:

•  Tertiary qualification in Engineering such as BSc. Civil and/or Architecture or equivalent
•  At least 2 years experience in a similar position or job
•  Must have a sound understanding of project methodologies and experience in project management
•  Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
•  Practical experience of C.A.D, AutoCAD Software
•  Well developed oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels
•  Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills
•  Medical fitness for the position and environment
•  A valid and current light duty vehicle license and proficiency in driving a light vehicle

•  Train mine staff, and transport companies on cyanide awareness and safety.
•  Secure new mining chemicals business with mining companies

•  Follow-up on obtaining purchase orders and managing collection of debt from customers
•  Frequent visits to all customers both in Ghana and other West African countries

Qualification Required & Experience

•  BSc in Mineral Processing from relevant university, or at least 5 years of practical experience if graduated from a non-profile university/specialty.

•  Experience working in an operating mineral processing plant, & use of chemical additives in the processes.

Purpose:
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Processing Manager and will be managing and coordinating the development and implementation of skills training to ensure continuous development of all processing personnel, Gold processing, Laboratory and Tailings Management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualification Required & Experience

Key Requirements:

•  Recognized qualification in BSc Mineral Engineering, BSc Extractive Metallurgy, Diploma in Mineral Engineering or its equivalent
•  Must be computer literate – MS Office Suite
•  Five years’ experience in complex gold processing plants at supervisory level
•  Demonstrate knowledge of complex metallurgical processing, preferably in the areas of Crushing and Milling, CIL, Pre-leach thickening and Tailings operations
•  Demonstrated success in the development, delivery and assessment of processing and maintenance related training programs
•  Demonstrates a clear understanding of Training Legislative requirements within Ghana, for mining and processing environments

The Training and Development Coordinator, reporting to the HR & Administration Manager, will assist the HRAM to lead the HR and Admin Department in managing Training and Development of employees at Perseus (Ghana) Limited, Edikan Gold Mine near Ayanfuri.

The responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-

•  Advise HR & Admin. Manager on staff training and development matters;
•  Develop training and development policies and procedures and implement a comprehensive training cycle involving identification of employee learning needs, design and execution of training programmes, and evaluation to determine the impact of training;
•  Develop and implement human resource planning policies and procedures involving identification of high potential employees, design a succession planning system, and establishment of a career development system to systematically prepare people to assume higher responsibility;

A self motivated person is required to manage a multi-faceted and multi-cultural production teams (Safety, Drill & Blast, Load & Haul, Technical Services and Secondary works including dewatering) to achieve the required production targets within the constraints of the budget. Purpose of the Job:
The HME Department of Tarkwa Gold Mine is seeking to employ a dedicated and self motivated individual who has experience in Pit Viper 235 and Pantera 1500 to fill the position of Superintendent – Drill Rigs.

Reporting to the Manager – HME, the incumbent shall be responsible for ensuring the effective management of Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) management and engineering systems, processes, and resources under controlled operational cost and safe conditions, for high equipment availability and performance, increased productivity, equipment reliability and operational profitability

Key Responsibilities:

•  Ensuring the achievement of high equipment availability and reliability within industry standard
•  Ensuring that Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) are maintained and positioned in line with GFG operational requirements and objectives
•  Implement effective cost management and financial performance monitoring system
•  Establishing and maintaining high performance and cohesive teamwork
•  Maintaining a safe and friendly environment
•  Ensuring that effective engineering standards and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements
