The position requires an individual with sound knowledge and experience of all aspects of project management, preferably in an international environment. The ideal candidate should have a graduate or post-graduate degree in economics, politics, social sciences or equivalent. The position requires excellent knowledge of the socio-political and economic situation in Ghana, a sound political judgement and analysis. Highly developed communication, team working and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite as is the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a professional work ethic. Experience in drafting articles and a good command of either french or german language will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities include:

•  Designing and implementing activities to promote FNF’s objectives in Ghana (i.e trainings, workshops, round table discussions, conferences, consultancies, study tours etc.)
•  Observing, analysing and communicating socio-political and ecnomic developments in Ghana
•  Maintaining regular and frequent contacts with partners and networking proactively.
•  Working close cooperation with the West Africa Director who is based in Dakar.
•  Working in close cooperation with the colleagues of the accra office
•  Writing regular and timely reports on activities and events including those to be posted on the foundation’s websites
•  Working within the framework of FNF’s annual and three year programme planning and inline with the foundation’s overall objectives and focal issues.

Job Summary:

The PROMISE Project Facilitators will be members of the PROMISE project team and report to the Project Manager. The Project Facilitator will based in Garu-Tempane District, in the Upper East Region and will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of project activities in 10 communities in the Garu-Tempane District.

The Project Facilitators will facilitate capacity building  of the community groups, monitoring of partner implementation, documenting processes and impacts.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Participate in the implementation of activities by the local NGO partners to ensure quality and effectiveness as well as documentation of participation
•  Ensure Local NGOs Partners organize monthly review meetings with the involvement of MOFA and District Assembly to assess effectiveness and progress of activity plan implementation
•  Ensure Local NGO Partners organize regular community forums to assess impact
•  Participate in Local NGO Partners monitoring events
•  Provide Project Manager with training and capacity building plans for community groups and ensure the necessary logistic arrangements are in place for the training
•  Ensure training event reports are written and shared
•  With the support of VSLA resource people in the AFSP and Accra, facilitate linkages of VSLA to rural banks
•  Monitor technical activity implementation at the partner level
•  Use review meetings as platforms to document impacts/changes occurring as a result of project implementation
•  Ensure Local NGO partners submit monthly implementation and financial reports
•  Synthesize partner’s report with own analysis, field reports and observations for the attention of Project Manager

Qualification Required & Experience

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies:

•  The Project Facilitators should have a minimum qualification of a degree in rural/social development/agriculture, with an understanding and experience in other
•  At least 3 years of relevant working experience
•  Strong experience and knowledge of agriculture sector and policies, food security and nutrition issues and networking
•  The Candidate for Garu Tempane District should also be able to speak Kusaal
•  Proven experience and understanding of working with community groups, local NGOs and district assemblies
•  Commitment to and understanding of a process and livelihood approach to development
•  Excellent professionalism, relationship building and communication skills
•  Knowledge of agriculture policy
•  Good spoken English and excellent English writing skills

•  provide direct backstopping support for the implementation of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation related projects;
•  Developing training programs and facilitating training of staff of partner organizations and project committees;
•  developing and reviewing manuals guiding the implementation of water and sanitation activities;
•  and undertaking regular community and partner visits to offer technical support in the implementation of WASH related programs.

Qualification Required & Experience

S/he will report to the Livelihoods/Ag Specialist and must have::

•  At least bachelor’s degree in Environmental & Water Management; Environmental Engineering; Sanitation Engineering; Water Resources Engineering or a related area;
•  University degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent;
•  At least 5 years of experience in the implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene related activities;
•  proven experience in designing integrated strategies and campaigns, utilizing various channels of communication: radio, television, publishing, interactive media (radio, internet, email, post), peer education, mobile video units, faith – based and special interest NGOs.

CHF International is seeking an experienced Management Systems Specialist to assist with the development and implementation of the Program Support System component which includes human resource management, capacity building, financial and procurement management.

This position will aim at establishing systems for providing technical support for improving capabilities of the participating District Assemblies (DA) on human resource management, capacity building, financial and procurement management.

This component will also complement the RING project through monitoring, evaluation, research, data management, documentation and dissemination.

Qualification Required & Experience

S/he will report to the Local Governance Finance Specialist, coordinating with other Technical Advisors in the project and must have:

•  Higher Degree in Finance/HR or equivalent;at least 6 years in human resource management, capacity building, financial and procurement management;
•  experience working in an organization which has managed national or regional level livelihoods programs;
•  Demonstrated ability in identifying and managing regional or national level partnerships;
•  Strong analytical skills;
•  Knowledge on research, M&E systems will be an added advantage;
•  Proficient in MS-office and ERP solutions;
•  Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work both as a team member and independently;
•  Excellent documentation skills;

This position’s holder will develop and maintain geographic information system data base for CHF and its partner districts;

•  Support partners to develop a GIS-based monitoring system;
•  Ensure data is accurately entered, up to date and available at all times; document important GIS procedures as available for all users of GIS;
•  Design general maps to illustrate CHF programs’ impact; liaise with CHF partners to facilitate data collection and transfer;
•  Promote data standards and map product standards;
•  To improve the quality of raw map and Geo code system used for CHF maps design;
•  Design activity maps per program or per activity according relevancy;
•  Produce maps of CHF activities according identified needs;
•  And support partners to  develop their GIS systems.

Qualification Required & Experience

S/he will report to the Senior Management Systems Advisor and must have:

•  Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in GIS and/or Geography, or a B.S. degree in Information Knowledge Management, etc. with evidence of 3 years daily experience using GIS in those fields;
•  Field experience in the management of interpersonal development programs, agricultural interventions, and working with host governmental agencies is desirable;
•  Knowledge and experience with ERSI GIS software packages, Google Maps and web-based GIS applications is essential;
•  Knowledge of GIS coding and programing languages for use in web-based applications preferred, experience with database creation and maintenance;
•  Previous experience with USAID grants, especially programmatic reporting requirements, is preferred;
•  Capable of performing regular travel to the field;
•  Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision;

Two Contract/Grant Officers will establish and design and oversee systems for the management of sub-awards, contracts and procurement under the program.

•  S/he will also ensure complete and accurate documentation of all grants, contracts, and procurement and that all necessary tendering is completed in an open and transparent fashion.
•  They will monitor the financial management of the subcontracts and grant under contracts (GUCs).
•  They will evaluate the initial financial management capacity of each subcontract and GUCs and provide on-the-job training on CHF tools for financial management, accounting, and reporting.
•  They will also analyze program sub-recipient disbursements against performance, process monthly drawdown requests for CHF and payments to implementing partners.

Qualification Required & Experience

S/hewill report to the Contracts /Grants Manager and must have:

•  Master’s degree in business administration, public health, management, or equivalent degree with relevant experience;
•  At least 5 years of experience, at least 2 of which in grants management and financial/operational systems is essential;
•  Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with complex financial information; Ability to establish and sustain interpersonal and professional relationships with donor, international organizations and local CBOs;
•  Substantial experience working with USAID-supported projects and knowledge of USAID financial regulations and procedure; and Proficiency in English (both oral and written) is required.
