Job Summary

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Medicine, or Public Health
•   Evidence of good standing with a recognized clinical related professional body
•   Very experienced senior nurses, midwives or Doctors with experience in sexual and reproductive health
•   At least 6-7 years post-graduation experience
•   A minimum of 3 years experience in a managerial / supervisory / administrative position
•   Articulate and analytical with attention to detail
•   Knowledge of health delivery systems in Ghana

Job Summary

The Nurse Aid, In-Reach is responsible for supporting with the provision of family planning services and facilitation of small group discussions. S/he assists with general mobilisation of clients including kayayeis and other disadvantaged and vulnerable groups who need the services of MSIG.

Key responsibilities include:

•   Assist in promoting activities of the Kayayei project and maintain strong relationship with leadership of Kayayei and other marginalised groups
•   Assist the Midwife in providing approved services for clients
•   Conduct group counselling for MSIG ciients and liaise with peer educators to provide comprehensive information on all project areas
•   Maintain contraceptive suppliers/inventory and suppliers register
•   Take the lead in mobilisation and sensitisation of clients and undertake field intervention
•   Keep records of all planned field activities – film shows, informal group discussion and sensitisation programmes

Qualification Required & Experience

•   GCE ‘0’ Level/SSCE Certificate is required
•   A recognised certificate in community health nursing or hearth care assistant
•   Basic certificate in computer application such as Microsoft word, excel, power point etc
•   A minimum of two years experience as a Nurse Aid, registered with a professional organisation in Ghana as well as experience working in a clinical environment
•   Excellent skills in provider-client interaction
•   Good written and verbal communication – Basic computer skills in Microsoft word, excel and power point
•   Work experience with Ghana Health Service and/or a Health related NGO
•   Articulate and analytical skills with attention to detail
•   Must be multi-skilled, have requisite experience in customer relation and work with minimum supervision
•   Must be prochoice
