Role Summary

Role Accountabilities

•   Plan and undertake health promotion programs
•   Undertake Nurse Anesthesia duties
•   Prepare patients for OPO consultation and Admission by doing the following;
1) Checking and recording Vital Signs
2) Orientation and education of patients
•   Counseling and administration of medications to patients according to the prescription instructions
•   Provide First Aid and first line emergency treatment in the absence of the medical officer and inform him of the condition.
•   Carry-out clinical procedures like wound dressing, 1M injection injury treatment
•   Preparing weekly and monthly clinic report for Health and Hygiene managers review.
•   Assisting the Medical Assistant to ensure that ~ the Ambulance, evacuation procedures and emergency equipment are duly checked each day
•   Ensure good housekeeping and standard hospital infection control procedures
•   Medically escorting critically ill patient to referral hospital during Medevac

Qualification Required & Experience

Person Specifications

•   Qualified State Registered Nurse/Diploma in Nurse Anesthesia and Critical Care
•   A minimum of 5 years Nursing practice and in good standing with the Nurses and Midwives council
•   Good knowledge of health data management
•   Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
•   Good communication and strong interpersonal / presentation skills
•   Ability to work extra hours and also respond to tight deadlines
•   Must possess a valid National driver’s license
