The Ghana Armed Forces Medical Services (GAFMS) with the state of the art medical facilities is looking for the following experienced and competent professional to fill the above open vacancy in 37 Military Hospital, Medical Centres in Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani, Takoradi, Ho, Tema and Tamale;

Purpose:
To train nurses and  midwives to be able to function in a multi-disciplinary health team.

Qualification Required & Experience

Educational Qualification & Experience:

•  Master’s in Nursing or its equivalent
•  First degree in Nursing with Postgraduate Diploma in Education or its equivalent
•  1-3 years working experience at the level of Nursing Tutor
•  Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
•  Experience in clinical supervision

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled individual who will assist in the management of the day-to-day running of the compay’s clinic and patient services to ensure the provision of good level of the health care to company employees.

Key Accountabilities

•  Provide basic nursing car and plans to staff and dependants in consultation with the physician
•  Supervise the cleanliness of the clinic
•  Supervise the preparation of dressing rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies
•  Identify and educate staff and dependants on topical health issues
•  Keep an inventory of disposable items and maintain stock levels
•  Administer medications as prescribed by the Medical doctor
•  Provide occupational health service and first aid to staff at the clinic and on site
•  Manage clinical records at the OPD and supervise the complilation of monthly reports
•  Responsible for the effective and timely appraisal of subordinate staff, ensuring discipline and staff welfare

Skills / Competencies Required

•  Must possess knowledge in nursing methods, techniques, principles, practices, locoal laws and regulations and medical standards
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•  Good interpersonal skills
•  Must be a good team player
•  Ability to prepare reports
•  Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

•  Good first degree in nursing and a minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience or diploma/SRN or equivalent certificate recognised by the nursing and midwives council with a minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience
•  Must possess a valid certification or a current license/PIN to practise as a registered nurse
•  Knowledge of occupational health will be an advantage
