Main Purpose

Your primary role will be to help fulfill orders and provide exceptional service and advice to every customer.

Main Responsibilities

• Assisting the Pharmacy Services Manager in the day-to-day running of the pharmacy and wholesale
• Dispensing medications in an accurate and timely manner
• Working with Technicians and Pharmacy Assistants to deliver excellent customer service
• Delivering health promotion programs as required
• Ensuring that all pharmacy operations are conducted in accordance with pharmacy policies and procedures, legal requirements and Quality Care Pharmacy Standards
• Ensures proper storage of all medications including refrigerated items
• Supervises inventory control of pharmacy stock to an acceptable turnover in order to minimize the amount of expired drugs including daily requirements from the wholesale department
• Provides drug information, including adverse drug reactions and contraindications to patients (clients)
• Supervises monthly physical inventory process.
• Schedules adequate staff and coordinates the activities of physical inventory for the pharmacy department monthly.
• Ensures that all clients or customers are given verbal (counseling) on all new prescriptions and clients (patients) are provided counseling or medical information according to professional judgment

Additional Responsibilities

• Pharmacist will advise clients (patients) and answer questions about prescription drugs
• Answer questions about possible side effects and interactions among different drugs; provide information and make recommendations about over-the-counter drugs;
• Pharmacists will supervise personnel, as well as have other general managerial duties.

Qualification Required & Experience

Education:

• Must be a Bachelor of Pharmacy holder from a recognized University
• Current registration as a pharmacist with the Ghana Pharmacy Council
• Experience: Experience in community pharmacy, possesses administrative and management skills.
• Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: Current registration as a pharmacist in Ghana. Licence must be available

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the country Director, the Senior Regulatory Advisor (Pharmacist) will:

•   Actively lead the development of new products and implementation of regulatory strategies for assigned projects
•   Lead the registration of new commodities / drugs with the FDA
•   Timely compile materials for license renewals, updates and registrations
•   Maintain regulatory files / database and chronologies in good order. Establish and maintain system for tracking changes in documents submitted to agencies or partners
•   Prepare, coordinate, manage or maintain simple and complex regulatory submissions (e.g. INDS, CTAs, amendments, safety reports, DSUR, annual reports, meeting packages etc.) in accordance with applicable regulations, this includes ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, workable submission plans: develop & maintain timelines, coordinate internal/external authoring/review/comment adjudication and finalisation (submission and archival)
•   Provide thoughtful & accurate comments during document review (e.g IB, protocal, ICFs, DSURs, annual reports, etc) mindful of regulatory groups (e.g. CRO, partner, consultants, etc) mindful of regulatory/ICH guidance/requirements pertaining to document content.
•   Interface with external regulatory groups (e.g CRO, partner, consultants, etc) in the preparation/review/compilation/finalisation/submission/posting of regulatory submissions, including IDNs, international clinical trial applications and marketing applications in Common Technical Document format, is essential.
•   Ability to handle multiple assignments and good judgement in prioritising tasks
•   Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a group setting, and to interact with various departments and functional groups
