Main Duties & Responsibilities:

•   Develop the short term and long term communications and public information strategic and operational plans and following their approval manage their implementation.
•   Establish, manage and ensure the periodic production of the Adentan Newsletter
•   Serves as the point of contact of media enquires
•   Maintain a good working relationship with the PRCC of the Assembly to enable them operationalize Public Relations functions as required by Act 462

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Minimum of first Degree preferably in Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing from a recognized University.
•   A Master’s Degree in related field will be an added advantage
Membership of a Reputable Professional Body such as the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) or Ghana institute of Journalism (GIJ) will be an added advantage.
•   Seven (7) years of relevant working experience in Public Relations, three (3) of which must have been m the Public Services of Ghana

Job Summary

The Public Relations Officer will be the head of the Public Relations Office and be responsible to the Registrar. Staff in this grade will be required to show high qualities of sound judgement, initiative, resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in their area of specification.

Duties:

•  Liaising with media houses for coverage of events e.g. Congregation, Matriculation, Open Day, etc
•  Assisting in content management and updating the Polytechnic website with news items, pictures and information on regular basis
•  Conducting Media monitoring e.g. press cutting activities
•  Publication of relevant corporate information to staff under the authority of the Registrar
•  Assisting in responding to incoming mails on the official website of the Polytechnic
•  Assisting in the organisation of official functions
•  Attending and reporting on official campus functions
•  Assisting in writing advertisements and design of general announcement for the benefit of staff, students and the general public
•  Assisting the Polytechnic radio station to ensure it is operated to the highest media, ethical and professional standards
