Tullow Technical Training Scholarships Available 2015 (Apply Now)

Applications are now open for the 2015 Tullow Technical Training Scholarships at the Jubilee Technical Training Centre (JTTC), Takoradi.

The Tullow Technical Training Scholarships form part of the Tullow Group Scholarship Scheme (TGSS) – a Tullow Oil plc initiative. These scholarships will support technical and vocational training for Ghanaians from the Western Region, to pursue courses at the JTTC, Takoradi. All courses are UK NVQ

Courses will be offered in the following areas:

•   Process engineering
•   Mechanical engineering
•   Electrical Engineering
•   Instrumentation

These scholarships are aimed at increasing accessibility of the scheme to individuals in the targeted communities of the Western Region of Ghana. Set criteria apply.

Japanese Government Scholarship for Research, Undergraduate & Specialised Training Students (Apply Now)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ghanaian applicants for the above-mentioned scholarship in Japan from April 2015. The scholarship is for research programme (Master’s/PhD/Research ect), undergraduate programme and specialised training programme (Diploma) in a Japanese University for academic and professional improvement

Eligibility

•   A Ghanaian national residing in Ghana
•   Research: Born on or after 2nd April, 1980
•   Undergraduate: Born between 2nd April, 1993, and 1st April, 1998
•   Specialised Training: Born between 2nd April, 1993 and 1st April, 1998
•   Research Programme (Masters): Undergraduate Degree holders from universities and/or colleges with a total mark of second class upper division higher
•   Willingness to learn the Japanese language and have the ability to do research in Japanese
•   Availability on arriving in Japan by April 2015

MasterCard Foundation Scholarship Program 2014 (Apply Now)

Our goal is to raise transformational leaders to influence change on the African Continent. The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST provides academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in Ghana and Africa with access to quality and relevant university education. It embodies an array of mentoring and cultural transition services to ensure student academic success, community engagement and transition to employment opportunities which will further social and economic change for Africa.

The Scholarship includes:

•   Comprehensive financial support (full tuition, fully paid accomodation, learning materials and uniforms, transportation and stipend
•   Regular group meetings with other scholars that focus on personal and professional development opportunities and activities tailored to build relationships and scholar capacity
•   Continued academic support through acedemic mentoring, vertual learning, life and career coaching and tutoring

Eligiblity

For the 2014 / 2015 Acamedic year, the opportunity is open to:

•   All students from the 303 less endowed schools (classified by the Ghana Education Service) who satisfy KNUST’s admission requirements
•   However, attention will be given to students outside the less endowed schools with extremely critical needs
•   International students from provable economically vulnerable background
•   Girls and physically challenged applicants will be given top priority
•   A perfernce for science students, however, all subjects are considered

What Next?

•   Only shortlisted applicants will be called for interviews to be held at the KNUST Secretariat of MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program, Office of the Dean of Students, 26th – 30th June, 2014
•   Final Selection will be done by an independent panel constituted by the Vice Chancellor of KNUST
•   Verification of All examination results and door to door visits of successful, candidates will be conducted
•   Award of the Scholarship will be announced two weeks before the start of the Semester
