Duties/Responsibilities:

•  Chairmanship of the Board of the School
•  Responsibility for the training of students in the School in consultations with the Pro gramme co-ordinators in the School
•  Chief Co-ordinator of the Programmes run in the School
•  Liaising with professional institutions, associations and similar bodies, and organizing consultative committees, comprising Senior Members and experts in the various professional fields within the School
•  Liaising with other Schools in the College in the organisation of common courses
•  Active support of the Vice President of the College in raising funds for the College

Terms of Appointment:
The appointment which is full-time shall be five (5) years on the terms and conditions specified in the instrument of appointment, which appointment may be renewed for a further term of up to five (5) years.

b) Providing in-class support for colleagues through demonstration lessons;
c) Teaching focused intervention groups if required

3. To provide leadership and support for colleagues (teachers and assistants) with regard to teaching and learning and the curriculum, including:

•  Managing the planning and delivery of the curriculum across the school, including developing schemes of work and medium term plans;
•  Supporting subject leaders in developing their role, in particular in relation to raising standards;

Supporting teams and individuals with short term planning;

•  Organizing and delivering training, as needed, to groups of school staff;
•  Supporting staff in the use of assessment information to inform teaching and learning;
•  Inducting and supporting newly qualified and less experienced staff and/or supply teachers;
•  Providing in-house support to staff, through demonstration lessons, team teaching, observation and feedback.

3. To undertake a significant role in maintaining a high standard of pupils’ behaviour and discipline, within the framework of the school policy and supporting other staff as necessary. To be committed to the school’s behaviour policy and promote ‘Restorative Practices’.

Inclusion, Equity and Entitlement:

•  Help the head teacher build a school culture and curriculum which takes account of the richness and diversity of the school’s community
•  Ensure learning experiences for students are linked into and integrated with the wider community and celebrate cultural diversity
•  Collaborate with other agencies in providing for the intellectual, social and cultural wellbeing of the students and their families

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

•  To attend daily and weekly meetings, in accordance with school policy and to lead such meetings as required.
•  To take whole school assemblies and to support other staff with assemblies.
•  To prepare and present reports, as required to, e.g. Head teacher, management, parents and outside agencies.
•  To attend occasional meetings during evening hours, at weekends or in school holidays, as required.

Qualification Required & Experience

•  A minimum qualification of a first Degree in a recognized university.
•  Not less than five years of proven experience of outstanding leadership in a similar capacity, preferably in an international school.
•  At least ten years teaching experience. The last five years should be at IGCSE level.
•  High level of emotional intelligence and excellent communication and interaction skills.
•  A belief in the value and power of team working and an overwhelming ability to provide guidance to team members.
•  A reflective and flexible approach and the ability to look upon demands as an opportunity to be positive and inspirational.
