Chemonics International Inc, a leading international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., is seeking long-term employees and short-term consultants for an anticipated early grade literacy and numeracy program in Ghana. The project will focus on improving reading and numeracy instruction, teacher training, education management, and materials development in English and mother tongue languages.
We are recruiting a senior-level early grade numeracy specialist for an anticipated four-year education program in Ghana. The early grade numeracy specialist will provide technical assistance for the design, implementation, and assessment of improved numeracy instruction, materials development, and teacher training efforts at the primary school level.
Qualification Required & Experience
Qualifications for the position:
• Master’s degree in education, preferably mathematics, bilingual education, or other relevant area or equivalent combination of education and work experience in education-related field;
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience working on numeracy instruction in primary education;
• Knowledge of the Ghana education system;
• Experience on USAID or other donor-funded programs preferred and experience working with non-governmental organizations and national and local governments required;
• Outstanding leadership, management, and interpersonal skills;
• Fluency in English required.
