Job Vacancy For Assistant Maintenance Supervisor (Quality Assurance)



The U.S. Mission in Accra, Ghana is seeking eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Assistant Maintenance Supervisor in the Facilities Maintenance Office of the Embassy.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Incumbent will serve as the assistant Maintenance Supervisor with responsibility for assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring Quality Assurance in all facets of maintenance, repair and improvement in all government-owned and leased property in country to meet the requirements of the ICASS (International Cooperative Administrative Support Services) standard of the Mission, as well as to supervise the day-to-day functions of the Utility Team for the delivery of water and generator diesel fuel to the above mentioned properties.

Qualification Required & Experience

Applicants must address each required qualification listed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Failure to do so may result in a determination that the applicant is not qualified.

•   EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school along with completion of a 3-year apprenticeship program or certified training in one of the building trades (NVTI Level) is required.
•   EXPERIENCE: Must have at least two (2) years' experience at the journeyman level in one of the building trades as well as two (2) years’ experience at the supervisory and team leader level.
•   LANGUAGE: Level III (Good Working knowledge of the written and spoken language) in English is required. Job holder will be able to read and understand, for example, regulations, instructions and related material concerning the field of work, and to prepare correspondence and standardized reports. (Language proficiency will be tested).
•   SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have Standard level keyboard and computer skills. Must possess a valid class B driver's license. (Computer and Driving Skills will be tested).

SELECTION PROCESS:

1. Management may consider the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.
2. Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.
3. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
4. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a security clearance.
5. Candidates who are EFMs, USEFMs, AEFMs, or MOHs must have at least one year remaining on their sponsor’s tour of duty to be considered eligible to apply for this position.

Salary: GH¢31,701.00 p.a. (Starting salary)
