•   SALARY: GHS 1,320 PER MONTH

Main purpose of job:

To cater for Official Events professionally.

Elements of the job:

To cater official events – meals, receptions etc – to a high standard, such that the High Commissioner and all official guests are fully satisfied with the service provided.

To carry out all supervisory and preparatory work associated with food production and handling, including:  the management of skilled and unskilled staff; the forward planning of food and equipment requirements; and maintaining proper health and sanitary standards.

Main Duties:

•   Supervises and participates in the preparation of food for official High Commission events at the Residence following standardised recipes, while also being able to innovate and expand the recipe and menu repertoire over time. Supervises table settings, according to type and content of meal.
•   Teaches and enforces all relevant health safety regulations, ensuring that the kitchen and all equipment in it are clean at all times and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met; plans and supervises the storage and use of leftover and uncooked food; inspects equipment and reports maintenance problems to the Residence manager.
•   Maintains records of food production. Estimates food needs and places orders through the Residence Manager, regularly reviewing the inventory to assure that adequate supplies are available and making requisitions to restock as and when necessary.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   HND Certificate in Food and Pastry/ Desert preparations-i.e. continental, French cuisine.
•   Excellent skills in food presentation-10 maximum and 5 minimum

Language requirements:  

Fluent in Spoken and Written English
