MODEC Ghana Limited is a limited liability company, incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Our core business is to provide operations and maintenance support to oil field companies. MODEC is seeking applications from enthusiastic, creative and fully suitably qualified Ghanaians for appointment into challenging, stimulating and exerting opportunities in the oil and gas industry.

Main Duties:

•   To carry out maintenance and repair work, shutdowns, isolations and planned maintenance.
•   To be aware of class and flag survey requirements and undertake or supervise the preparation of machinery or equipment for survey,
•   Be familiar with the Facility's plant and machinery and shall ensure that the maintenance staff under his control are adequately trained in their safe operation and maintenance.
•   Ensure that he has knowledge of safety requirements, including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, Company policy and instructions.
•   Shall assist the Chief Engineer/Mechanical Supervisor with the preparation of the running repair list.
•   To maintain accurate records which shall be readily retrievable and conform to the Safety / Facility Management Systems; to prepare data for entry in the daily report and the AMOS? His handover notes will encompass a comprehensive coverage of his work during his period onboard.
•   To liaise with the Chief Engineer on ordering of stones and spare gear and maintenance of onboard stock levels, to ensure that the Facility's operational capabilities and safety are not jeopardized.
•   To carry out bunkering operations and ensure that all preventative measures are taken when bunkering in port or offshore.

Technical Integrity:

•   Carry out first line maintenance activities as directed by relevant Discipline Supervisor on the utilities plant in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with statutory requirements.
•   Maintain complete and accurate records within the Maintenance Management System.
•   Adhere to all legislative, environmental and company standards and procedures.

Innovations/Knowledge Transfer:

•   Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency and cut cost or time without toss of integrity and present idea(s) to relevant management.
•   Work with discipline team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.

Team Working:

•   Adopt flexible working attitude to provide support across departments to ensure team success.
•   Conduct work group / toolbox briefings.
•   Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify & minimise interpersonal conflict.
•   Maintain effective communication with Supervisors and other work groups.

Communications/Reporting:

•   Manage and report any defect or inspection report to relevant HOD in a clear and concise manner and record all relevant information in togs as required.
•   Ensure a safe and comprehensive handover is given at shift or crew change with all pertinent operational and maintenance information to relevant personnel.
•   Provide required input to vessel meetings, planning, initiatives etc

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

•   Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with the Safety Management System, including vessel safety regulations and positively support all safety initiatives and improvements

Qualification Required & Experience

•   1st Class Motor Certificate with tanker endorsement. (E)
•   Strong personal and interpersonal skills (E)

Experience:

•   Experience as 2nd Engineer on FPSO or similar Facilities with a detailed knowledge of tanker systems and operations preferred. (E)
•   Experience in the operation and maintenance of process equipment preferred. (E)
•   Experience   with   Safety   Management   Systems   and   Computerised
•   Maintenance Management Systems preferred. (E)

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:

•   International Marine STCW certification (E)
•   Boiler / Steam certification (E)
•   Current OPITO accredited TBOSIET (Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Escape Training) qualification and UKOOA accredited offshore medical clearance certificate are required for offshore travel to the FPSO. (D)
•   Emergency response duties / fire team trained (D)

Personal Skills:

•   Communication skills verbal and written (E)
•   Good team working skills (E)

(D) = Desirable requirement. Candidate may be appointed, with discretion, without full achievement of criterion but the indicated competence should be developed.
