Keegan Resources Ghana Ltd. (“KRGL”) is a fully-­?owned subsidiary of Asanko Gold Inc., a company
which is building the Asanko Gold Mine, Ghana’s next goldmine. The vision of Asanko is to become a mid-tier gold mining company that maximizes value for all stakeholders.

KRGL is seeking to employ a qualified person to fill the role below. This is a permanent position with a competitive work roster resident in a single status camp environment. The camp’s facilities include fully serviced air-conditioned rooms, Wi-Fi access, laundry service, wet mess, sporting facilities (swimming pool, gym, volleyball/basketball, tennis, pool tables, table soccer, soccer grounds). Remuneration package includes attractive salary and performance based incentive payments.

Position: Manager - Processing

Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, the incumbent will oversee the construction, commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization and operation of the plant.

The short and medium term focus of the role is to complete the construction and commissioning of the plant and to build up the capability to operate it effectively long-term. This will include the design and implementation of systems required for plant management, particularly the Management Operating System and coaching key personnel in plant operations. Thereafter the role will focus on meeting production goals by coordinating the activities of plant operations to maximize process efficiencies, costs and commodity recovery in a safe work place.

Core to this opportunity is to achieve production targets and oversee KPI activity.

Key Responsibilities:

•   Implement high level of processing operations and ensure best Safety, Health and Environmental standards and practices, including contractor health and safety;
•   Oversee and manage the Process department including Plant Engineering / Maintenance, Plant Operations, Metallurgy and Gold Room personnel, ensuring agreed KPI’s are met across all areas
•   Manage / accountable for the metallurgical input into the process plant operation, technical improvements, future development and equipment performance;
•   Manage / accountable for the process control system operation, improvement programs, system reliability, development and change management systems;
•   Management of the process laboratory, testing and reporting of results in line with standard operating procedures and recognised standards;
•   In charge of Stockpile management, Crushing/Conveying/Milling, Reagents, Concentrate and Tails, Metallurgical laboratory and Pumping
•   The Process Manager shall maintain close working relationship with mine operations, engineering, environmental, procurement and materials management.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Must hold a BSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy;
•   At least 10 year’s experience working in an African context ideally in a gold mining company
•   Process Managers Certificate from Inspectorate division of Minerals Commission (MINCOM) within 3 months;
•   Must have an impeccable ethical track record;
•   Must have a good understanding of the ICMI Cyanide code;
•   Good understanding of relevant applicable legislations and Regulations;
•   BSc or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy;
•   Strong sense of urgency and results-orientation;
•   Extensive experience in plant commissioning, systems implementation, coaching and mentoring;
•   Excellent communication skills;
•   Strong interpersonal skills;
•   Ability to plan and organise;
•   Strong computational capability;
•   Experience on SCADA and limits operation.
