Job Summary

The position will provide technical support to the project team and partners in clinical area of FP/RH to ensure effective programmatic integration, quality of care, improved access, and strengthened referral systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

•   Provide state-of-the-art technical support to the project team and partners in clinical area of FP/RH to ensure effective programmatic integration, quality of care, improved access, and strengthened referral systems
•   Provide technical guidance on implementation of Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service clinical protocols, policy, procedures and guidelines, including the formation, training and deployment of FP/RH regional resource teams
•   Contribute to the development, review and finalization of project documents, including but not limited to: work plans; quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports; project assessments and evaluations; and project briefs, presentations, and other documentation for knowledge management
•   Provide guidance for development of adolescent reproductive health policies, strategies, interventions, services and capacity integrated into routine health service provision at the region, district, and community-based health planning and service  levels
•   Support working group meetings and partner coordination to develop the national FP/RH costed implementation plan
•   Provide current literature and evidence-based programming guidelines to and build capacity of technical staff in FP/RH
•   Serve as supervisor for technical staff, as delegated by chief-of-party or deputy-chief-of party.
•   Collaborate with M&E team and partners to review service delivery data and results and develop appropriate performance improvement approaches
•   Participate in national working groups and communities of practice on FP/RH and related subjects
•   Represent Systems for Health in various for a, as delegated by the COP or DCOP

Qualification Required & Experience

•   A medical doctor with eight (8) years’ relevant experience as a senior-level manager of health programs, or a bachelor’s degree in nursing or midwifery with fifteen years work experience in health service delivery in Ghana, is required.
•   A master’s degree in public health or related field is an added advantage.
•   Five (5) years of the above experience should be at a senior technical and management level on USAID-funded health projects as well as five (5) years of recent experience supporting the implementation of FP/RH interventions.

•   Ability to collect and use relevant health data in preparing precise and accurate reports
•   A high level of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to balance working well in a team environment with initiative and creativity
•   Independent ability to carry responsibility as well as the ability to plan, develop, manage and evaluate important and sensitive programs
•   Excellent written and oral communication
•   High comfort level writing and presenting data and information in a compelling way to different audiences
