OrphanAid Africa is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. Its aim is to support orphans and vulnerable children in Ghana through programs in Care Reform, family support, education and development.

Its goal is to ensure that children grow up in safe and permanent family settings with appropriate care and protection.

Job Summary

The Human Resource Manager is to see to the overall functioning of the Human resource base of the organization by maintaining records of recruitment, performance and disciplinary actions as well as staff motivation. He shall report to the Chief Executive Officer. He/she will

•   Have a comprehensive leave plan for all staff such as sick leave, Educational leave, Maternity Leave and the Annual leave.
•   Plan and process all Visa related applications for foreigners visitors
•   Coordinate with various departmental heads to carry out the performance review for their staff
•   Coordinate Staff get-togethers and staff meetings
•   Partake in the discussion on staff performance related issues and their documentation
•   Update regularly the organizational chart
•   Hosting of visitors at Ayenyah
•   Write appropriate job descriptions for all positions
•   facilitate the recruitment of new staff
•   Prepare contracts and get them signed and filed
•   Do the induction for new staff – Staff Hand Book explanation
•   Makes sure all employees files are up to date
•   Prepare the payroll of the organization, compute for other statutory payment such as SSNIT and PAYE for Staff
•   Plan and have a smooth exit plan for staff
•   Explore and request for the logistics needs of staff to perform well
•   Be part of the strategic decision definition
•   Regularly update the staff facebook page other social media pages.

Qualification Required & Experience

The successful candidate should have

•   A minimum of Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management
•   Practical experience in Human Resource management for at least three(3) years
•   Good command of MS Office package
•   Ability to work in rural and urban communities
•   knowledge of Twi, Ga/Dangme and/ or Ewe
•   Good organizational skills
•   Good knowledge of the immigration laws and regulations of Ghana
•   Conversant with the Ghana Labour Act and other laws relating to labour in Ghana
•   Excellent professional writing skills
•   Demonstrate good professional boundaries
•   Demonstrate a non judgemental and non-bias attitude
•   Inclusive of all different ethnic groups, religious beliefs and alternative lifestyles
•   Can remain calm under pressure and meet necessary deadlines as needed
