Job Vacancy For Project Officer At Special Attention Project (SAP)



Special Attention Project (SAP) is a Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organisation that improves the lives of children with Specific Learning Difficulties by spreading information to the public, advocating for learning support for pupils with learning difficulties in mainstream schools, doing research and training on Specific Learning Difficulties as well as providing practical support to out-of-school children with learning difficulties in the streets of Accra.

The organization currently has a vacancy for a Project Officer for a contract term of six (6) months.

Summary:

The Project Officer’s role is to facilitate the delivery of a project in the juvenile justice sector, sponsored by a foreign agency. It includes planning, stakeholder engagement, implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation, publicity as well as ensuring project spending according to budget.

Duties and responsibilities:

•   Ensuring that the project is implemented in a timely manner in accordance with the project plan
•   Engaging with stakeholders in the sector and collaborating for the best interest of intended beneficiaries
•   Preparing and implementing effective monitoring and evaluation
•   Managing the project budget, ensuring that spending is within the budget, and compiling financial reports
•   Complying with SAP’s internal reporting procedures
•   Collating of project data and preparing the final project report
•   Preparing reports for the funding partner for approval by the CEO of SAP
•   Ensuring appropriate media coverage of the project
•   Providing content for the organisation’s PR with regards to the project

Qualification Required & Experience

•   Al least two (2) years experience in management of projects at similar level
•   Proven competence to achieve results according to pre-defined project plans
•   Minimum of first degree in a relevant field

Specific knowledge, skills and abilities:

•   Knowledge of children’s rights particularly with regards to children with disabilities and justice
•   Ability to define indicators for monitoring and evaluation, and design effective mechanisms for impact monitoring
•   Strong competence in stakeholder engagement, including public sector stakeholders
•   Strong information processing skills
•   Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, e-mail)
•   Basic knowledge of financial record keeping
•   Strong planning and coordination skills
•   Ability to establish and maintain good working relations within the organisation and with project partners
•   Ability to communicate effectively and timely
•   Good writing skills including correct grammar and spelling in the English language
