A reputable educational institution in the Central Region of Ghana is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced people for the following roles: Rector

Purpose

• The job holder is to oversee all academic and student affairs functions within the University system including policy development and implementation management and provide leadership to the academic and academic-related units of the university

Essential Duties

• Supervise budget preparation for the academic and academic-related programmes, allocating and reallocating funds and resources to and from these programmes
• Provide leadership in creating and maintaining academic standards and policies needed to implement the schools goals and expectations and to ensure compliance. Review and make recommendations on admission requirements and exemptions
• Provide leadership in all academic matters, initiates, participates in and supervises academic planning, oversee academic program reviews and curriculum development, maintains liaison with external groups and agencies on academic programmes
• Evaluate, review and recommend action on applications for faculty and staff promotion and tenure
• Supervise the budget preparation of the academic and academic-related programme for submission to the board of Directors, allocate and reallocate funds and resources (personnel, space, etc) as appropriate to/from academic and academic related cost centers.
• Consult with groups relevant to the school, serve on advisory boards, assist in the schools fund-raising efforts
• Make recommendations on accreditation issues and follow-up
• Develop and recommend an annual system academic calendar

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must have a PHD (Must be a Professor)
• Record of successful academic accomplishments

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible senior level experience at the provost or dean level at a business school
• Experience in academic planning, program and policy development and leadership
• Be of unblemished character and have a high degree of personal integrity
• Be a distinguished scholar of international repute who can inspire, direct and motivate staff
