The University of Ghana hereby invites applications from suitably qualified employees of the University of Ghana, for appointment as Valuation and Estate Surveyors, Estate Management Division, Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD).

POSITION: Valuation and Estate Surveyors
REPORTING TO: Deputy Director, Estate Management Division, PDMSD

JOB ROLE

• The University of Ghana’s Estate Management and Maintenance Division, under the PDMSD, among others, oversees the management of the University’s real estate assets, ensuring their optimal use and providing professional advice on property-related matters.
• The role involves assessing the value of properties, managing leases, overseeing land transactions, and advising on estate development.
• It also involves coordinating the process of procuring, managing, and delivering property improvement projects across the University, as well as administering and managing land portfolios of the University across the regions, while working with a wide variety of stakeholder groups in ensuring that assignments are delivered to high expectations.

Qualification Required & Experience

The applicant must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Land Economy, Estate Management, Surveying, or a related field.
• Professional certification or membership with Ghana Institute of Surveyors (GhIS).
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant post professional qualification experience in property valuation and estate management.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
• A Master’s degree in a related field and working experience within a university or other tertiary institution would be an added advantage.

Required knowledge, ability and skills:

• Proficiency in carrying out property valuations for administrative, commercial, and academic properties.
• Ability to conduct feasibility studies and market analysis on real estate development.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting estate data and advising on real estate investments.
• Good understanding of urban planning, land administration, and development control.
• Comprehensive knowledge of land use and property laws.
• Ability to accurately organize and maintain up-to-date inventory of university property, including titles, deeds, certificates, tenure, size, location, boundaries, usage, and financial obligation therein.
• Demonstration of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Must be a good team player and proficient in computer literacy, especially with Microsoft office suite and GIS/Mapping tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Applicants must have served a minimum of two years in a Senior Staff role at the University of Ghana, and must be able to serve a minimum of 4 years in the role before reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.
