Job Vacancy For Deputy Director of Finance (Financial Accounting)



The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified serving officers of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and sister agencies of the Ministry of Health for appointment as Directors to fill the under-listed vacancy: Deputy Director of Finance (Financial Accounting)

SUMMARY OF JOB/FUNCTIONS

• Provide support and advice to the Director of Finance in the efficient management of financial resources in the Hospital.
• Supervise the preparation of Annual Operational Budgets.
• To Assist in the mobilization and disbursement of financial resources and provide or generate reports for management control and facilitate the implementation of efficient financial management systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation of Hospital's Annual Operational Consolidated Budgets.
• Monitoring of Hospital's Operational Budgets by issuing timely management reports to spending officers.
• Supervising and certifying the preparation of Cash Books and Bank Reconciliation Statements.
• Preparation of the Hospital's Annual Government Budgets.
• Preparation of monthly payroll returns.
• Supervising the preparation of monthly returns on revenue and expenditure.
• Liaising with officials of MoH, MoFEP and the Controller and Accountant General's Department on relevant issues.
• Supervising preparation of Hospital's Statutory Accounts, (Consolidated Financial Statements).
• Liaising with external auditors in the conduct of statutory audit and preparation of Management's responses on external auditors findings.
• Develop strategies to increase revenue collection and minimize financial losses.
• Ensuring effective staff management etc.

Job Qualifications and Experience

• Must have at least a post graduate qualification in Finance/Accounting and professional qualification in CIMA/ICA
(GH)/ACCA/CPA/ Must be a member of a recognized professional body and in good standing.
• Knowledge to demonstrate commitment and dedication to the work, the clients, and the Hospital.
• Knowledge and experience of quality assurance
• Knowledge in coordinating and implementing Research and development programmes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work, lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to organize and manage workload
• Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills
