Job summary

• Lead the transformation of Trade Marketing into a data-driven, digital, and insight-led department that strengthens MTN’s commercial performance, deepens customer and stakeholder relationships, and maximizes lifetime value across both physical and digital trade ecosystems

Key Tasks:

• Integrate Trade Marketing and CVM to deliver personalized, high-impact channel programs.
• Champion digital transformation of trade execution (automation, analytics, dashboards).
• Enable data-to-decision agility through real-time insights and customer intelligence.
• Strengthen MTN’s channel effectiveness, visibility, and value growth in line with Ambition 2025.
• Plan and execute innovative trade programs and activations that drive sell-in, sell-out, and brand visibility.
• Use CVM insights to segment, target, and engage customers through personalized trade offers and lifecycle campaigns
• Lead digitization of trade operations (retailer apps, e-Channel platforms, data dashboards
• Convert trade and customer data into actionable insights for performance improvement.
• Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, CVM, Digital, Home, Enterprise and Fintech teams to deliver unified campaigns.
• Build a high-performing, agile, and digitally fluent trade marketing team
• Monitoring costs, determine initiatives to optimize resources so the Company obtains value for money in its Trade Marketing activities.
• Advising Trade Marketing effectiveness through regular monitoring and reporting of execution and impact of all the trade marketing activities to both Customers and the Company.
• Co-ordinate the resolution of Trade Marketing supplier complaints/problems including payment queries.
• Regularly search for information on competitor activity both internally and externally with suggestions on remedial action.
• Track expenditure lines of the trade marketing department against the approved budget and highlight areas of inefficiency and propose remedial actions.
• Ensure Proper reporting / databases for all Trade Visibility items placed in the trade.

Qualification Required & Experience

Education:

• A bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or any other related field.

Experience:

• 3-5 years relevant work experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in sales and distribution in a telecom company or service industry
• Experience in a retail / digital trade marketing environment

Professional/Technical competencies:

• retail / digital trade marketing knowledge
• Overall market knowledge.
• Ability to track competitor market activities and strategic initiatives
• Structured and organized approach to communication
• Good knowledge of sales and retail Industry trends, best practice retail.
• Strong Business acumen
• Extensive knowledge of the Telecom, Fintech and Digital industry
