Positions Available:

1. Nursery Teacher (British Curriculum – EYFS)
2. Nursery Assistant (Full-Time)

Job Summary

The Nursery Teacher will be responsible for creating engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children using the EYFS/British Curriculum. The successful candidate should be passionate about early childhood education and committed to nurturing children academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Responsibilities

•Prepare and deliver engaging lessons and classroom activities.
•Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
•Assess and monitor pupils’ progress effectively.
•Prepare lesson notes and teaching materials.
•Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
•Maintain effective classroom management.
•Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
•Participate in school programmes, meetings, and training sessions.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

•Holds a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
•Has at least 1–2 years of teaching experience.
•Has strong classroom management skills.
•Has passion for child development and learning.
•Is able to prepare lesson notes and assess pupils effectively.
•Has knowledge in Jolly Phonics.
•Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Is organised, creative, and committed to excellence in teaching.
•Candidates living within 5–10 miles of Achimota will be highly considered.

2. Nursery Assistant (Full-Time)

Job Summary

The Nursery Assistant will support teachers in providing quality care and engaging learning experiences for young children within a warm and stimulating classroom environment. The successful candidate should be passionate about working with children, eager to learn, and committed to supporting early childhood development.

Responsibilities

•Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities and routines.
•Support children during learning, play, feeding, and rest times.
•Help prepare teaching and learning materials.
•Maintain a clean, safe, and organised learning environment.
•Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
•Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities.
•Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
•Participate in school activities, meetings, and training sessions.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

•Is an SHS graduate who can read, comprehend, and write clearly.
•Has passion for teaching and nurturing children in their early years.
•Sees Early Years education as a career path and is committed to growing in this field.
•Has a caring, patient, and positive attitude.
•Is eager to learn, takes initiative, and works collaboratively as part of a team.
•Is organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions effectively.
•Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
•Previous experience working with children will be an added advantage but is not compulsory.
•Candidates living within 5–10 miles of Achimota will be highly considered.
